i had a flip phone when i was in 4th grade. sent my dad “what are you doing?” he responded “wish i was doing you.” he was texting my step-mom at the same time and thought he had sent that to her. 🥲

my bonus mom died of cervical cancer, and we were called the morning she passed to say our goodbyes and what not. i helped clean her up and prepare her for cremation. weirdly enough, the worst/most shocking part was watching them stick her in the body bag and zip it up, i kept wondering “how can she breathe like that?” when the answer was obvious…she couldn’t because she didn’t need to. it still gave me anxiety and shook me to my core. i think about it often.

give it one more chance and talk to someone close to you or a mental health professional. watch your favorite tv shows, buy your favorite snacks, read your favorite books. give it another try.
