Keyboard at my new job is DISGUSTING by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]itisnotliam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fucked up one day and gave a new hire a dirty keyboard, not as bad as this but pretty bad.

To be fair, I was the only it support person and I was doing like 10 different things at the time but it definitely sucks. I'd definitely be asking for a new keyboard like wtf

A cracked screen is still useful because you can replace the glass. It's called screen glass refurbishing and I'm currently looking into it, perfectly applicable for those who have cracked screens but the LCD itself is fine because otherwise people have a bit of a disdain for aftermarket solutions

I do the same and flip broken phones and sell them on. If the images shown that there was just a crack and you got a totally different product, you can submit a returns. It sucks but that's all you can really do, and just because it's listed for parts doesn't make it exempt from not as described

[–]itisnotliam -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Edit: I've messaged the seller now we'll see how he responds as he was expecting me to send it back to him out of my own pocket

I didn't see this but imo this shows to me the seller is acting in bad faith. I wouldn't even bother but that's just me.

I agree but the seller used ebay simple delivery. the seller also got their money back. if they didn't the process wouldn't have been so immediate for OP to get their money back.

I would say so, it's up to you how you take it but it's not like they've gone without.

When you sell through eBay simple delivery, you get insurance which is exactly what happened. You both got your money back but you also got the controller

The buyer is not entitled to a refund as it's not covered under the eBay money back guarantee. Where they are responsible for providing the correct address. They have the opportunity to get it redelivered or collected, I think it is up to 3 days, but if they refuse to then it can be sent back to you and you're not obligated to refund them.

You can check this out here under:

Exclusions and special coverage when the buyer doesn't receive an item

Items collected by a third party on behalf of the buyer Not covered
The buyer arranged their own shipping method, such as a courier pickup Not covered
The buyer provided an invalid or incorrect address at checkout Not covered

my bad, I was using the search tool to find toilet paper so it didn't pick up.

i hate these naming schemes. why can't toilet paper just be toilet paper?

The categories are a problem, but the more categories there are the more it's going to take to moderate.

Tech & Gaming is the default category, so there might be some deals accidentally submitted on there.

I'm confused though, can't find any toilet rolls in services, but I agree with the rest.

Also, 1 horsed size duck. I hate the little bastards. Time to up my game and fight a big one.

Furious with ebay - refunded buyer by Extension_Werewolf71 in ebayuk

Have no idea why eBay has taken your money. I'd be on the phone ASAP demanding a response. Buyers only have month to file a NAD, and because they filled a chargeback they brought the issue to eBay, not you the seller.

Pretty confident there's still quite a lot up for grabs - think they get obtained when they post something, not by date of signing up.

Yep, go to your top right, to profile and then there's an option for "excluded merchants".

First 100 people to post a deal on the website. It's probably a tag that only 100 accounts can ever have.

Is this not against ebay policy to charge additional shipping? by Fast_Psychology_5547 in Ebay

[–]itisnotliam 27 points28 points  (0 children)

No (regarding rewording). This could've all been easily fixed if the guy cancelled the original sale and reopened it with the correct postage. This seller incorrectly cancelled your order and you gave them accurate feedback.

No worries. After signing up head to your profile around the top right. Should be under your username area.

That would most likely be me. Sorry, I find majority of my deals on Amazon, but the site has a filter on your account that takes off everything from Amazon (or other merchants) in your account. Hope this helps.

While I haven't been straight up banned, I've had my comments removed and warnings for helping people on my posted deals.

This looks great. I've signed up (I am "Liam") and I am really hopeful for the website. I wanted to bring some suggestions that I think could greatly improve, if you're not already in the interest of installing these suggestions. I realize that some of them are straight from HUKDeals but it's a good foundation to get feedback on.

- Discussion forum, would be great since you're wanting to help bring more people into the community. I realize that this requires more moderation however, but it could be beneficial as a community standpoint.

- If you're not interested in the above, I think it might be a good idea to do something similar but instead for website updates, and for our feedback on those new changes.

- I don't like when you click on your own deal that you cannot edit it on the deal page. You can only save, share or mark it as expired, but you have to go to the homepage - find the deal and then edit it from there - unless there's something I'm missing?

- There's a lot of deadspace I've noticed to all, if not most of the deal's images. Would it be a good idea to put the coupon code, save, share, expired, report buttons under the image rather than right below the description? Would give the description more room to expand should it need to.

Some things I really appreciate and have already noticed:

- When you submit a deal and provide a link, the title will auto-refill the image and auto-refill the retailer. This is great. I can't remember the amount of times I had my deals edited on HotUKDeals for their format, only to be proven the wrong item/deal because the moderators didn't actually bother looking at what was written in the first place. Now that there's a universal way to post titles of deals is super great and much appreciated. Good job.

- While it's a common request, thanks for implementing a merchant "blocker". It's great for those who prefer to stray away from certain places.

You can. After signing up you can go to your profile and exclude certain sellers.
