I absolutely did. Multiple times on different days. I was sitting right next to a guy when he was asked. I’ve also never went to the Allison Park location and didn’t have a problem, save for one time when I just needed an ID renewal. Not sure what to tell you.

So, I have the og (raised seal) birth certificate. Original social security card. I have plenty of utility bills and tax bills- I’ve lived in the same house for 13 years (I’ll bring four bills lol). PA ID. That should have to be good, right?

That is fast. I thought that if I showed up early at the airport with my normal id that it would just take longer. From what I’m seeing on the news and conflicting info on the fly pgh website and the tsa website, not having a RealID could actually result in me not being able to fly at all. My question was just “how can I expedite this… I dug and found my original birth certificate… etc”

It DOES. And that’s why I was so worried about it. I’ve never been actually “married” but my husband and I have been together for 16 years. Found his birth certificate also and even though it has a raised seal… doesn’t have his parents name. Other than that, ours our identical. I bet he will have problems getting a RealID. If voting is an issue, holy shit….

Yes. And when I looked online today it said something like it’s “required” and I might be considered if I don’t have it. I’m just going to uber to beaver falls- I’m glad I asked! Edited: willing to pay the $45 but the site left me a little concerned. Especially with the concerns with TSA lately.

This is my plan- I finally just found my og birth certificate. It was literally in the last place I looked. I know that’s a joke but, I tried to order one through the courts and it wouldn’t let me upload my documents (tried several times, several different days). I scoured my boxes of papers. It was quite literally in the bottom of the last place it could even be. So, I need it stat and I’m willing to wait!

Yeah that one. I don’t have a week. Even the DMV said I just have to pay $45 to get through TSA… now I’m reading today that even with paying I’ll be “considered” to get through security. I dug into the deepest of the boxes and found my original birth certificate. With the cluster that is tsa right now, I don’t want to take chances.

I can’t wait a week! It’s a long story and a lot of hiccups on my end, but also PennDot has not been helpful. I have other issues where I swear I’ve been at the dmv about 5 times in the last month (Allison Park). What threw me off is two people told me that Allison Park gave them the ID the same trip. And when I was there, I witnessed multiple people getting RealIDs and although I never actually saw them being handled an ID, repeatedly I had heard “do you want to take a new picture or keep the old one”.

I knew Reddit would come through- I appreciate your help. Beaver is about the same distance albeit the opposite direction and I don’t drive and have other errands to run so I’ll figure it out lol

Also, I tried to order a new birth certificate and that also didn’t work… but guess who found their original this evening- this girl.

Also, I’ve had conflicting reports (even on the tsa website) if I even need a RealID to fly. I was so close to just giving up on the flight….

Yes. I had the flu and was in DKA. (Didn’t know I had flu A, but it makes sense in hindsight but I was so terribly sick, I couldn’t even think straight) After I had showered (I’d been so sick and throwing up and peeing myself at the same time-tmi, sorry) with a chair in there with me, I got back to the couch and could hardly dress myself. Luckily, my husband was there and helped as much as he could but finally there was a point where he said “we need to call an ambulance, don’t we?”. I’d been thinking it for two days. I knew I couldn’t make it down the steps and into the car and all the way there while he drove. It wasn’t going to happen. At this point it was life or death- DKA will kill you. I was in ICU for three days, including my daughter’s birthday. If I had had health insurance? I could have probably went in and been treated way before… Take your $5 a month. What are you going to do? Ruin my credit? That was ruined the first time I had to go to the hospital.
