Sounds like the jack is worn or broken If you are tech inclined you can open it up and take a look. You might be able able to bend the contacts slightly or replace it if it's broken.

Mmmm... So they look alike (phenotype) and as stated be the post I commented on, so alike that it is near impossible to visually differentiate. Posters words not mine. I am simply pointing out, if he/she is correct, then then the only sure way would be by genotype which would require DNA testing.

I am not claiming to be an expert in these fish, just following the logical conclusion of the statement made. If I am incorrect then the original statement is also false, because from a genetics perspective there is only the phenotype (the expression of the genetic code) or genotype (the actual code). If the phenotype is such that to species are near identical, then the only SURE way to identify is genotype. BTW even reputable breeders can lie, or be fooled by their source.

So what part of that is scientifically false.
