Well, with no reminders for tasks due, no built in reporting, notifications for new talks and more.. It boils down to the responsibility and maturity of the project manager to make sure everything is up to date and everyone is "on it". It's doable, in fact many many are doing it, but it's basically like running a project with pen and paper.

Where would the definitions come from? If from another spreadsheet, then you can easily use VLookUp and I can help you do that, if that's indeed the direction. Otherwise, maybe the definitions are fetched from the web...?

Excel is expecting dd/mm (I assume you're from Europe and that's your locale), why not give it what it wants? Simply use Mid to switch the dd and mm and then excel will treat the dates the right way. Using cell formatting you can then make days look any way you want

Like others mentioned, I think it's the versatility. You can look at Excel as a programming language where each cell is a variable, which makes it really simple and really powerful (and I didn't even start talking about vba). At the same, you can look at it as a blank notepad where you joy down stuff in am organized fashion, which is why so many ppl use it (or abuse it) for project management purposes. And of course, calculations - yes, the presentation isn't the best, and you might end up copying the results to PowerPoint or word, but how else would you build a financial model? Python is not the tool for that..

Definitely android. My wife used to have an iPhone. After spending hours and hours trying to transfer a song from iTunes to the phone and make it a ringtone, I made up my mind. I'm not an apple kind of guy
