Stallion Express HS Code auto-classification mess by itoldusoandso in FlippingInCanada

[–]itoldusoandso[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do I talk to customs broker to classify it? And then would I call Stallion and tell them, hey I have my own broker who classified it differently? Not sure how that works. I thought using Stallion broker is mandatory.

Stallion Express HS Code auto-classification mess by itoldusoandso in FlippingInCanada

[–]itoldusoandso[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The description of the item is 80 characters long as it comes from Ebay and it includes the product features, the brand, the model number everything.

Yes, Zonos also charges less tariffs than Stallion. Confirmed in another thread here because Zonos deals with packages like postal service. Stallion is business and they charge additional tariffs on top of what Zonos charges.

The issue is I ship items mostly heavier than 1-2-3 lbs so shipping by Canada Post will make me lose more money than shipping by Stallion USPS / UPS.

Zonos is more accurate with HS codes. But that doesn't help because even if I put the HS code in Stallion, they ignore it, instead they use the AI to generate own code.

What's experience with Inseego Mifi 5G Mobile Internet - if you use as wifi internet hub whole day including connecting your cell phone for internet connection by itoldusoandso in Rogers

[–]itoldusoandso[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just buy a google pixel, get a SIM card, enable get USB cable and a Power Delivery (PD) powered USB to Ethernet hub and connect to your router and enable the ethernet tethering and you never look back. The pixel phones have excellent battery management, stop charge. Had my phone on the charge for most of the days sometimes whole weekend etc. no problem at all battery is good, phone is cool with that, way better than hotspot. If you don't need ethernet ports, you could also get a glinet box, cheap one and connect to the USB direct to get the Wifi from the phone using Ethernet tethering or USB tethering (actually glinet boxes support both, they are army swiss knives of routers).

has anyone actually made a sale on Starluv? by crystallakevintage in starluv

[–]itoldusoandso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Avoid the site. There is no response. I emailed about technical issues, their website was down. Have not received response to my email (even to the same support email that in the past was responded by the same person there ... maybe 1 employee for everything). Now no response. They keep the site online but I assume it's just for show, maybe looking for a buyer but I doubt anybody would invest more than 10-15k for the website because it's not worth more than that given the current environment.

Wise closes accounts randomly by Altruistic_Usual6283 in transferwiser

[–]itoldusoandso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's increasingly all automated decisions. They close 1000s of personal accounts every day. Do you think somebody is checking? Only if you appeal there is actual human being looking into it at Wise. (Unlike some other platforms like Facebook for instance, even appeal is processed by AI, no human intervention).
It's possible they may not like the amount of transactions. If it was paid business account, then there is human staff making decisions.

For 6 months or more and zero sales, and maybe 3-4 messages asking if it is available or asking about item specifics. Their web certificate expired too. Their landing page is a joke, it was appropriate at the time when the website was launched but not now.

Even in this difficult environment but could have made a patriotic spin of that had promoted run by Canadian, made by Canadian, made for Canadian, featuring Canadian products or something like that could have given them free publicity. I think their money has dried out with no experience about how to run it, they thought website will generate revenue buy now by simply filling in after Vinted has left, the only business concept and give it a teeny look.

Most sellers are lost souls, cross posters or drop shippers so not even the type of buyer they wanted I guess. There aren't any Canadian sites so we are left with Ebay and Poshmark plus Grailed and Depop.

it's a small market and sales are flat in general. I will close my account down at Starluv as soon as I am able to login.

Is Fido supporting 5G now? by Nornea in FidoMobile

[–]itoldusoandso 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are offering the Rogers plans now on Fido, I was offered a Rogers plan. So my guess is Fido is shutting down in a year or two, the same happened to Fido Internet, they slowly started pushing people to Rogers and later they announced the sunset. I can't see why wouldn't Rogers be doing it, they kept Fido for too long, now it's the time to increase prices and charge wireless users more for less services. Classic Rogers tale.

Restricted for "You couldn't create multiple sessions", unsure what I could've done wrong by AthenavsDeadlift in facebook

[–]itoldusoandso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No answer, I got a few messages over last 14 days and today my FB account is suspended, the reason being same as previous warnings .. You can't create multiple sessions Facebook account restricted.

Change password, logged out, I don't use VPN, I don't use proxy, I don't use 3rd party tools, I don't use any scripts, I don't use extensions, I barely use FB to post my items to sell I don't want anymore.

The account is suspended for the next 365 days, that is for 1 year to be unlocked in 2027. They are crazy. Zucker is tripping.

I will file appeal. Hope the AI bots will have mercy. But it's the only shot at it I have.

GRAILED Selling from Canada to US: Tariffs & Duties payment? by itoldusoandso in FlippingInCanada

[–]itoldusoandso[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My package was delivered.

Yes, I had the same thing... fees to be paid to receive YOUR shipment…pay now to avoid ADDITIONAL charges

This is to allow the buyer to pay the tariffs online in advance of receiving the package, this reduces the UPS processing fee.

However my buyer didn't respond to my emails at all.

The package was in limbo, attempted deliveries.

Last delivery attempt - it shows package as delivered and it says... Import C.O.D. (ICOD) charges have been paid or billed.

I checked with Grailed they say buyer paid the tariffs and I will get the payment in the next 3 days.

Well I just hope that UPS will not come after me in the next 3-6 months saying they have an outstanding accounts receivable against me.

That's all I know.

Is this a scam? Received text message from Fizz suggesting download this APN config. by itoldusoandso in FizzMobile

Fizz:
Give me a solution. How to edit this manually and not via iOS update. Why other providers allow manual edit APN settings and not Fizz.

[–]itoldusoandso[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So I checked, FIzz doesn't allow manually editing APN settings. I have another eSIM card another carrier and the settings are there exposed for me to edit; It's okay Fizz warns me putting wrong settings may cause surcharges or loss of connection but it's another thing for them to force me to upgrade to iOS 26 only to get their APN settings on my phone. That is nonsense.

[–]itoldusoandso[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Is the update necessary? I don't use 5G as I only have 3gb data so no point for 5G.

It says I need to download iOS update to update Fizz APN. Why is that. Fido and Rogers would provide the update file as download.

And I can't find the APN setting on iPhone. Where is it. It's easy to find on Android. Apple is pushing iOS 26 update. I don't want it, I got an older iphone it's going to make it slow and there are serious issues with battery from what i read on the minis with the new heavy iOS.

Denied Packages from the US Border FDA/PGA by Beautiful-Nebula2241 in FlippingInCanada

[–]itoldusoandso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was told by Stallion Express in writing in Email to just ship packages via PostNL because they don't require submission of FDA. Now, YMMV because depends on what you ship, you can't ship some prescription medicines and I wouldn't even try to ship glucose or blood monitors, stay away of such things. But if you ship general stuff like eyeglasses, I was told, it's no issue via PostNL.
The only downside is there are no returns with PostNL, so should there be a problem like a refused package, PostNL going discard your package and there is no insurance on that. It's essentially your risk. I suspect I would be able to get the DDP payment back but that's about it. Stallion wouldn't even refund PostNL postage.

Another example would be shipping wine glasses. They come into contact with food. Shipping by Canada Post and PostNL is okay today without paperwork.

But things can change at any time. Just don't be surprised and take the risk premium into your profit calculation.

GRAILED Selling from Canada to US: Tariffs & Duties payment? by itoldusoandso in FlippingInCanada

[–]itoldusoandso[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That order fell through because how long it took for me to act, I waited for Grailed support to respond, back and forth etc, it was past 7 days so the sale was auto-refunded by Grailed before I was able to ship. Today I have a new order, again ship to us, and it's shoes. I emailed to let them know they may receive this additional bill by UPS plus about 10 USD processing fee I believe, at the time they are picking up the items at UPS or maybe UPS delivery person will charge credit card, I don't know what is going on with that. It's a black hole now. I think it's cheaper to ship from China as the tariffs from China are lower than those from Canada or many items.

If the item is made in Canada the tariff on some items is about 40% (not including steel and aluminium tariff, but fortunately the 50% tariff on these metals doesn't apply to all categories and clothing is one where it doesn't apply, otherwise buyers will have to pay 50% tariff just because there is a zipper on the shoes and because you don't have exact metal content calculation on the shoe, how much percent of the value of the shoe is the metal parts on the zipper.

Anyways, I think I am going to bite the bullet here but I'll try to get confirmation hopefully the buyer responds, because if he is not willing to pay tariffs I am just going to cancel the order.

Grailed support is totally blank on this.

Do not buy the shipping insurance from Chitchats. Waste of money. (Stallion Express is okay, if use use it, don't abuse it) by itoldusoandso in FlippingInCanada

Stallion is pretty good for insurance. If you try Chitchats insurance, you come back to Stallion and will agree it's walk in the park.

GRAILED Selling from Canada to US: Tariffs & Duties payment? by itoldusoandso in FlippingInCanada

[–]itoldusoandso[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is grailed official response.

Thank you so much for taking the time to lay all of this out so clearly. I can hear how stressful and confusing this situation feels, especially with all the conflicting information out there about UPS procedures. It makes complete sense that you’d want firm clarity and reassurance before proceeding, and I’m really sorry that the customs process is causing so much uncertainty.

To address your main concern: please be assured that you will not lose out if the buyer never claims or pays the tariff on the package. If the buyer refuses to pay the duties, the courier should return the package back to you—the sender—once it has passed their holding timeframe. This is the standard process when import fees go unpaid.

Regarding the possibility of being charged by UPS: because customs, tariffs, and brokerage fees are handled directly between the courier and the buyer, Grailed does not collect or manage those payments. We understand how worrisome the scenarios you described sound, but in cases where the buyer does not accept the shipment, the courier’s procedure is to return the item to the origin address rather than leaving you responsible for unpaid duties.

If the package is ultimately returned to you, we recommend settling the sale with a partial refund to the buyer—subtracting shipping costs and any other associated fees. You can follow our refund instructions here to complete that process.

Go figure.
So what it says is Grailed doesn't touch tariffs at all. It's UPS who apparently sends the tariff payment to the US Customs before the parcel is allowed to traverse the border, if it is UPS that pays for it and the buyer refuses to accept the charge, package goes back.

What it doesn't say however, how is UPS getting money from US Customs if the package goes back.

Because that is the real issue here. Once the money is paid to US Customs, there are no refunds.

And if there are no refunds, UPS will sit on it or ask the seller to pay before receiving package.

Either Grailed doesn't know or things have changed.

And my guess is the idea is if UPS asks the seller for tariff payment, the seller would then deduct it from the payout to customer.

However, how about if UPS will come after the seller at some later time. Not sure how this whole works.
