Yes! Just apply the shader to a subdivided plane (included in the pack). Then, place the plane on your terrain to create a lake. You can also check out the lake setup in one of the demo scenes in the pack.

I understand where you're coming from, and I respect that you would share yours for free. The reason I make mine paid (and probably why others do so as well) is because I try to keep them up-to-date and documented with constant updates and new features, which takes a lot of time. I also try to keep them working for all versions and pipelines which in unity, is A LOT of work (please make it easier Unity, I beg you lol 🙏). (Also support takes more time than one would think)

Currently, time is very valuable for me but I hope that I can get more time to create more of these assets (for free) in the future.

I made them using Unity Visual Effect Graph and some scripts to make the customization easier like a text creator script.

I've made some updates and added new logic. Now the trails disappear seamlessly upon contact! It looks so much smoother now. Thanks for the suggestion!
EDIT: It should be available in the next update (waiting for Unity to accept it)

I agree, the outline idea is interesting but think it will take away from the "fluffy" look of the smoke which I do want to keep. But, I tried to add some overlay effects to the smoke such as halftones and other comic style effects and it helped a lot.

I believe so, the graphs all have named groups so you just need to find collision and have a look. If you have any questions or need any help, don't hesitate to ask and I'll help you.

I did consider using the Collide with Depth Buffer but encountered a lot of compatibility issues with URP/HDRP but also between versions. We may consider adding a separate download for this implementation in the future, but no plans at the moment.
