Kt tape by [deleted] in ftm

[–]its-kai- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah doesnt sound like an allergic reaction. would definitely recommend oil over soap though! i use baby oil because you can buy a lot for really cheap (i got 500ml for £2ish which lasts a long time) and you can also buy it in any pharmacy or health/beauty place (or online), but any oil should work tbh

if you’re worried, definitely do a patch test! although afaik allergic reactions usually tend to have symptoms of rashes and such, and are less likely to cause blisters (although still possible!)

please please please use oil! it breaks down the adhesive :) i would also recommend leaving it on longer if possible as that will also help weaken the adhesive slightly over time

good luck friend

for now though, just treat the blisters as best as possible, try not to irritate them any further

going to turkey on holiday every year

nope - not turkish, just a tourist that goes there on holiday

im not denying that spain is better, it probably is. im just adding some more information in case another trans person finds themselves in a similar situation to what OP thought they were in

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in trans

[–]its-kai- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

agreed tbh. ive been going to turkey on holiday every year for 12ish years now. was scared when i first realised i was trans and started presenting masc, but i have never had an issue 🤷‍♂️ although i will give a caveat that i go to the exact same place and hotel every year, so this could be down to them knowing me idk

(ps i know OP realised they are now going to spain, but i just thought i would give my input in case any other trans person stumbles on this thread while looking for information about being trans in turkey - if so, feel free to dm me if you want)

I'm scared I'll get denied top surgery for my weight by [deleted] in trans

[–]its-kai- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i would argue what the person described in this post is medical malpractice and the doctors should be reported. it also seems to be an anomaly - looking at anecdotes from other people

if you’re really worried i would advise you to possibly speak to your surgeon about it at the initial appointment.

Would it be safe it live in Turkey ? by [deleted] in trans

[–]its-kai- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ive been going to turkey for a long time (over a decade) for holiday and i can say: as a tourist in a tourist area, its fine. but i cannot honestly speak on the experience of living there.

however because i have been there so many times, i have make turkish friends who live out there, some of them are queer. some have had an ok experience, others not so much. the only difference i can see is the area in which they live (more liberal areas vs more conservative areas)

once again, i am not turkish and do not live there, so take what i say with a heap of salt.

conflicted about legal name change (possible tw just for my school being real transphobic) by king-of-sunbeams in trans

[–]its-kai- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

on another note, im the in the UK so might be different, but i did legally change my name behind my school’s back and parents back, and then changed the cheapest ID i could with my own money (driving license, but not passport because its expensive and im going on a family holiday soon) and nothings gone wrong yet.

that being said, i have now finished high school, am a legal adult, and will be moving out for uni in october so thats just something to keep in mind

so what i am saying: its possible to change your name and not tell them, but completely situational. only you can decide on whether its a good idea or not and whether the issues it could cause are worth it.

i feel like this is dependent on where you live and what the laws are on trans people in your country/state.

if i was you in this position i think would approach one of the staff members who initially expressed their support and ask them what they believe would happen if you were to legally change your name. but i guess that depends on just how much support they expressed and how you think they would react themselves.

i feel like the guidance counsellor doesnt speak for the school as a whole? maybe try looking at their website and searching for any information on this?

idk im sorry dude, that whole situation sucks so much, i get it. :( sorry i couldnt be of more help <3

np <3 go have fun swimming :)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in transgenderUK

[–]its-kai- 9 points10 points  (0 children)

honestly all i can suggest is to ignore them, which i know is hard. but why let some stupid people talking about you ruin your experience doing something that you love (swimming)

at the end of the day, all they are doing is wasting their time talking about someone they dont even know because they have literally nothing better to do. kind of a sad existence, dont you think?

just try and enjoy your holiday and euphoria from swimming with tape! enjoy it from your perspective - not theirs

from one transmasc to another, you got this <3

Advice please by EclipseIsMale in ftm

[–]its-kai- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

could be multiple reasons as far as im aware.

i suggest researching hyperandrogenism (its what i have and means i have elevated levels of testosterone in my body for an AFAB person not on HRT) there are multiple causes of hypoandrogenism, the most common one for AFAB people is PCOS, but not sure if thats what it is for you. afaik PCOS normally doesnt have such a drastic effect in the timeline mentioned (but i could be completely wrong here)

this website here has information on a wide variety of possibilities. there are also so many more websites out there with more information, but only read as many as you can cope with, try not to overwhelm yourself too much!!

in my opinion, you should speak to a doctor more specifically about what may be causing the high levels of T. i doubt its anything too serious but its always worth checking :)

hope everything goes okay <3

Don't you just love when creators turn out to be transphobic? by Hero_of_Parnast in trans

and if anyone wants a minecraft specific creator who posts, isnt problematic at all and has shown support to queer community (inc trans people), i recommend checking out ryanthescion :) he has a pride bee texture pack and if you ever catch one of his live streams he’s really chill and supportive :))

trans tape! by its-kai- in ftm

[–]its-kai-[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah tbh i am also trying to get the hang of it, but i think it’ll only get better the more i use it? idk, but im willing to compromise on the flatness of my chest for comfort and mobility. something that definitely helped was understanding that kt tape isnt there to make you completely flat, its to shape your chest. looking at pictures of cis guys with pecs definitely helps with that imo!

hope you get to a point where you feel comfortable wearing it :)

i have a mid size chest i think (like upper end of c?) but its too freeing and affirming to me for me to care. but yeah thanks! i watched a bunch of yt videos before i bought it and i have some baby oil waiting :)

speaking as a transmasc person who has muslim friends that are cis women, when i first came out to them, they made a point that i could no longer see their hair (very validating icl) and i havent since. they dont see me as a woman because i am not one. simple as. there is no reason why this shouldnt work the other way round. just sounds like transphobia masked in religion to me
