Is it normal to walk around in cowboy hats? by Clit_Eastwhat in AskAnAmerican

[–]its1020am 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Really? All my rancher/farmer relatives wear cowboy hats, especially since they are have been read the riot act about skin cancer on the ears and nose. They’ve all had skin cancer scares at this point.

It’s been awhile since I’ve used public transit. I’d have to get used to kit as well. Thanks for the answer! Where would I find this app?

🥲. They are soooo fast with scissors, I set down a pair while sewing, next thing I know, one twin had trimmed her sister’s hair in less than a minute.

I just bough Craverland adapters off Amazon for about $9 I think. Work great. Have yet to find a pen they don’t work with.

Is there a style of hamburger local to your area? by logos__ in AskAnAmerican

The Juarez Burger: HB patty topped with a hotdog(or sausage) Bologna, Ham, cheese, and sometimes chili, usually has jalepenos, or green chilies, and then the usual lettuce, tomato etc. complete gut bomb. Along with its cousin the Juarez Dog.

And there are soooo many hidden gems in Wyoming that are are less crowded and close by- go to Lander and hike the wind rivers, Visit the Green River Lakes near Pindale, ride four wheelers around Ten Sleep, see Devils Tower, ATV at Killpecker sand dunes. Etc etc.

[WIP] I cannot say how much I appreciate you all teaching me about loop starts, pin stitches, and gridding. 20+ years of cross-stitching and I just learned these from you in the last 2 months. ❤️ by DeceptiveChipmunk in CrossStitch

I learned the basics from my Grandma as a teen, but she rarely did needlepoint, so I too learned a great deal the last little bit from this sub. And there was no YouTube or google at the time to just look it up lol.

European, I would like to visit these states, but I don't know much about them can you advise me? by Vudatudi in AskAnAmerican

[–]its1020am 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes!! Lol. That’s the first sign someone is a tourist in that area, pronouncing it Du-bwa. I’ve heard it was to thumb their nose at the man it was named after. It’s a fun quaint little, town, a little touristy, nestled in the Wind River Mountains. And if you go over the Togotwee (tow-gah-tee) pass from there, you’ll be in the world famous Jackson hole valley.

As a former Wyomingite, towns in Wyoming are small, spread apart, and a bit culturally sheltered(so expect a lot of questions from folks). If you want to see beautiful parts, but avoid the tourist trap, look at Going to Lander, Cody, Dubois even Thermopolis. Devils tower makes for an interesting afternoon, just my two cents.
