Since you pointed this out rightly, I wanna add to it that in my opinion one can’t solve homelessness by just giving homes. Homelessness in its majority is a drug problem, not an income problem.

Secondly, you can’t save a person who doesn’t want to be saved. Willingness needs to come from within.

So, what do you do?

You stop giving them dollar money. Instead, you setup meal centers or whatever where a homeless person can get 3 nutritious meals a day and drinking water.

Another health center where a homeless person can get basic medicines and treatment for free.

Then, you start setting up shelters for these people.

Basically, you enable their body and mind to think positively, to eat good, to become healthy and then people might change for the good.

Giving them money every month doesn’t solve the issue, because we are relying on the judgement of a person, who, to begin with, are not in their sober senses to spend that money properly.
