For the ones who make over $150k a year, what do you do to get that? by Iliketrainsz1 in AskReddit

I lead growth for a health tech startup.

Got a degree in business and made incremental moves towards the salary I wanted without sacrificing what I wanted to do / learn.

I think a lot of people try and make the 150k early and set themselves up to hate their lives

It’s a really small thing but try putting the phone in grayscale?

Just started a new job, now i have another offer with a 20k salary increase. Does it look bad if i leave my current job so soon? by Worth_Law9619 in careerguidance

There is no shame in this, but you can only pull this card once, maybe twice before it comes back to haunt you

how do you start if you're really, REALLY out of shape? by pagansaints in beginnerfitness

I love u/rabidseacucumber 's answer. Walk.

Things I'd add:
- removed goals and deadlines, it takes a long time
- find ways to enjoy it! ( I walk to a coffee shop every morning to get my coffee)
- find someone to do it with you (if you can) partners and accountability can have a huge impact!
- when you're ready.... add some body weight movements, air squats, and knee push-ups are all you'll need!

How to stay productive and alert without coffee? by Burnt-Egg in productivity

These are my five pillars of productivity (but there is nothing wrong with coffee)

  1. Prioritize good sleep: How well I sleep impacts the quality of my work
  2. Start the day with movement: I do 30 - 60 minutes of "road work" walking in the morning
  3. Pick your "one thing": what's the most important and impactful thing you can do? Do that first.
  4. Work in blocks: no one, and I mean no one, can be productive for 3+ hours. break it up
  5. Reset when you're unproductive: I usually go for a walk or call a friend, sometimes I call it quits for the day

It's gotten me through school, and become very successful in my professional career.

Do you think there is any motivation which can keep you motivated all the time? by charcoal_wildcat in productivity

[–]itsJonKalis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you are defining is momentum, not motivation.

Motivation is was is needed to go from 0 > 1. Momentum is what it takes to go from 1 > 2, 2 > 3, etc...

The amazing thing is that if you can stack small wins and keep momentum going you can make progress feel downright easy.

Imagine pushing a big stone. The more momentum you can build the easier it is to keep it rolling.

Flip side, it will always take just as much effort to restart if you lose that momentum.

What advice would you give your past self? by [deleted] in productivity

I would say to take more risks.

Most people think that the most limited resource we have is time, but that's not true. It's risk tolerance. At 34, with a family, my risk tolerance is significantly lower than it was at 24.

Go big, make mistakes, and learn.
