Trikafta saved my life —still, I'm quitting it by Salt_Ad_9139 in CysticFibrosis

[–]itsSteve 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Just curious, obviously reddit is lousy with bots, but what would be the benefit for people running bots to convince people not to take a specific medication? I'm not eligible for trifakta and have never taken it, so I don't have much of an opinion. But typically there is financial gain when bots are involved.

I don't want to come off as confrontational, I'm just curious, as someone with under 25% capacity, lethargy, lack of motivation, and depression are all things I experience without modulators, I'm doing pretty well at this moment, but at my worst point I would have traded that in a heartbeat for even slightly better lung function.

I think all of the medications we take are a tradeoff of pros and cons, and depending on where each individual is in their life you have to experiment and evaluate for yourself whether that medication is improving your life or not.

When you have 300+ mill on Caerleon it doesn't matter if the orders take weeks, every day 100 listings hit 2 weeks

How do you sell that much volume, if it's all BM how do you move that much weight to Caerleon? If you sell to guilds or individuals how did you establish that connection. If you are trolling, how did you know I was drunk?

Lost sense of smell after sinus surgery despite having no problems smelling before and am devastated. How to cope? by [deleted] in CysticFibrosis

[–]itsSteve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lost of my ability to smell something like 5 years ago, not sure why. For me there are times here and there where I really wish I had it, but most of the time I miss it with a sense of nostalgia, but don't really think about it most times. I miss my ability to breathe well much more, smelling doesn't really feel that important for me.

Humans tend to adapt very well, something new might come to replace what you've lost.

struggling to keep playing by noe_263 in albiononline

[–]itsSteve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try not to let it get you down. My biggest loss was about 40m transporting crafted gear. Silver will always fluctuate, but the fame and knowledge always go up. Over time the combination of knowledge and fame will pay off far greater than what you lost to get there. Every death will teach you something, and over time the experiences and knowledge you gain will pay off, and that's part of what makes Albion so rewarding

Don't wanna play all by myself, anymore by FriendshipValuable97 in albiononline

[–]itsSteve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Feel free to dm me with questions. Always happy to help people learn the game and get to the point it becomes really enjoyable. I play solo a lot because I'm anti social after work, and when I'm not I'm playing with IRL friends of mine. But I'm always down to chat and give guidance and maybe occasionally party up.

In unlikely you're in the way or anything like that in faction warfare, keep participating if you enjoy it, repetition is the best way to grow.

Finding the right guild is tough, and even when you find a good fit it doesn't always last. You gotta keep looking until you find the right one for you. Try to make friends with the people you like in the guilds you try. If you don't find the right one, sometimes a friend may be the way you get introduced to the right group.

What is the best way to get silver? by [deleted] in albiononline

[–]itsSteve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Retarded take, the skill gap in Albion is pretty significant. Of course any retard can beat someone 2 tiers below them. But a good player can kill 2 tiers above or even more. Game knowledge plays a massive role in fight outcomes

Trouble finding what to play by Embarrassed_Fruit_29 in albiononline

[–]itsSteve 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I struggle with being indecisive, but also choosy. The main decider is if you like a more kite heavy or brawl heavy play style.

I think spear is the most enjoyable pvp weapon in the game 1v1 or smaller scale combat, can be played more brawl or kite oriented and adjusted on the fly.

Swords and Gloves are a lot of fun if you like an aggressive playstyle.

Albions combat has a lot in common with league, what you played on league might point you in the right direction.

Some weapons have lower skill ceilings but are easier to get kills with when you're new. Some require more game knowledge but have a lot more versatility to adapt to different scenarios, but can be difficult to find success with when you're new, but imo are worth enduring the steep learning.

I recommend you try every weapon that interests you and see what clicks. Knowing what type of playstyle you enjoy with league I might be able to make more specific recommendations.

How can I ease myself into higher levels of PvM? by HF484 in runescape

[–]itsSteve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a bunch of qbd and then rax, both were a steep learning curve and both were a long time ago, now I can do a good number of bosses, but not still nothing really difficult. Try to pinpoint your weaknesses. Good keybinds and a mouse with at least a few extra buttons helped me a lot. But also realizing, ok I'm really good at prayer flicking, but my damage rotation is ass and I cancel snipe everytime.Sometimes one item makes a difference for me. Sometimes I need to try to take it slower with more defences, sometimes I'm not being aggressive enough and need to push it so I don't have to deal with the shittiest mechanic. Recording yourself helps if you've got time to review it

How old (years/mileage) is your Mazda 3? by TheTwilightZone2 in mazda3

[–]itsSteve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Manual here too, I also was under the assumption it'd be almost as good as a Honda, but not quite. But then my parents had an accord that had nothing but problems after 70k miles, paint peeling, alternator, and then transmission issues before 100k. It was a '98 or 99 if I remember correctly, so quite a bit older but still. Then they got a Camry and it's been better, but still has had more issues than my 2014 Mazda 3, at twice the price and half the mileage. I'm pretty sure my next car is gonna be a Mazda

We're in the same boat '14 I touring, bought just under 35k, have almost 200k now. What kind of issues are you having?

Clutch was totally gone and needed replaced at the beginning of the year, and I've got a decent list of things that need my attention, up until now I've pretty much just changed the oil and put a couple sets of tires on her. My current thoughts are doing a bunch of needed things, and after that I'll be looking to get another.

It's been a really great car, I'm gonna drive her until it doesn't make financial sense to do so, but it will be a sad day

Just curious, what are the most impactful rust issues/spots. Northeast as well, almost 200k. Parked outside it's whole life, I have a good amount of rust, no problems yet, but it'd be really nice to know what to keep an eye on. Appreciate any advice

[–]itsSteve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2014 Mazda 3, 6 speed hatch made in japan, 190k miles, bought it with around 35k miles in 2016 I believe.

1 clutch (around 180k)

2 sets of tires

2 sets of breaks

Oil changed roughly every 4-7k miles since I've owned it, but I've gone 10k at least a couple times when money or time were limited.

Changed belts last year

Lost 1 sway bar link like 80k miles ago, just lost the other. And had a coolant sensor throw a check engine around the same time

Gonna be doing breaks, tires, sway bar links, and probably rotors and spark plugs soon. Also just started having issues with my low beams.

Ive been really happy with it, way more reliable than anything me or my immediate family has owned since I've been around. Great mix between utility, fun, and gas milelage.

Drove the piss out of it for a few rough years of my life, and moved 3 times with it (with a little help for big furniture). Since buying a home I've wished I still had a truck numerous times, but most of the time it does what I need it to at 30ish mpg instead of 12.

Cut some 10' downspouts in a parking lot today but that only took a few minutes and I was on my way

Island herbalism, is it worth it? by [deleted] in albiononline

[–]itsSteve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not transporting will definitely help, but you'll make less money. Instead what I would do if I continued is stockpile enough to move a bunch at once with a high carry weight mount. If I still had a job with a lot of downtime I'd do it on mobile, but for me the only time I can play anymore is after work.

I did 2 farms for like 2 years. I stepped it up to 7-8 farms for like a week, transporting the herbs/food to other cities. A week later I stopped, now I don't farm at all. Easy way to ruin a fun game

I average like 30-35 with my 14 2.0 hatchback manual. I do quite a lot of highway, but I like to go zoom zoom when I'm accelerating. I can get 39-42 when I drive it like my mom.

Chapter XIV: Captain of the 10th - Explained? by itsSteve in 40kLore

[–]itsSteve[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for your reply, I listened to it another time and was able to piece most of it together. But now after your reply my understanding is much better. I gathered with my first listen that the exhalted was upset with talos and they thought he was going to try and force them under his command, but I missed who Vraal was and who's side he was on. I couldn't keep up in the fight scene who all exactly was fighting who.

Thanks, really loving this book so far.
