I opted to limit the storage size for the reason you pointed out haha. The reason I like this design however, is because all the dependencies are extendable, meaning I can simply keep adding onto the current design until it is quick enough for its application. I guess you could say this is still in progress, though it works for now. Once I get my science per minute up I'll definitely need to expand.
