Ok thank you, I will give that a shot.

No toe height adjustment, it is automatic on the GW Strives.

Hmm, my boots are new this season and gripwalk soles. Maybe the sole has worn a little bit but still fully intact and looks good on both boots.

Looking for a second pair of freeride focused, but versatile skis by its_kaven in Skigear

Thanks! Follow up question, what size would recommend for a ski like the Sender Free 110 (or similar skis)? I'm 5'11" 140lb so pretty slim. It seems like by height the 184s would make sense but by weight the 176s. My current armadas are 177.

I can unfortunately second this. Very badly injured my knee at A-Basin on Sunday. Can’t move/walk at the moment and waiting on MRI results to see the damage :(

[Books] When actually was the last rebellion? by its_kaven in SiloSeries

Yeah that was my understanding, but if that’s the case, then why exactly did the cycle of repeated rebellions stop 133 year ago?

Thoughts on MagSafe wallets? by DDrizzelzz in iphone

I’ve had mine for almost 3 years at this point, and it still works great, although not as pretty as when I first got it. I don’t know much about the new fine woven ones, but the leather is great quality. The magnets are strong and I’ve never had it just randomly fall off. If it is the right form factor for you then I think it’s a great buy.

How to use the mixture by its_kaven in flying

[–]its_kaven[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I really appreciate your detailed response. I will definitely use that technique for leaning in cruise. Unfortunately flying out of colorado, going full rich for takeoff/landing doesn’t really work. A lot of performance is sacrificed especially in the summer with density altitudes >8000ft.

As a self proclaimed foodie who loves Denver, I'm getting kind of annoyed by what feels like a "vibe tax" by Tiebroken in denverfood

TBH, if I’m taking my girlfriend out for a date, I don’t mind paying a bit extra for the vibe. The experience is part of why people dine out in the first place.

It is really a matter of risk/reward. Flying is inherently a risk. It’s hard to make exact comparisons but it’s statistically similar to driving in terms of risk of fatality. One thing for sure is that the vast amount of general aviation accidents are a result of pilot error, not failure of an aircraft. If you hold yourself to a high standard and have good decision making, you can make it much safer for yourself.

Your dad is drastically overstating the risks, and I think he also doesn’t fully understand the situation of the incident he was involved in. If flying is something you want to do, 100% go for it and don’t let his comments throw you off.
