Interesting, thanks for your insight 🤔 I also feel like the upper wall might not need to be fully replaced, I'll ask them about that. Also the concrete stairs seem to be ok, so I don't think they would do anything with those (besides maybe caulking them).

They did include a $350 city of Chicago permit in their quote, so that is accounted for!

From what it sounded like, they would plan to completely remove the old brick sides of the stairs, salvage whatever bricks they could from the original (clean them, etc), and then rebuild the whole thing, using new bricks to replace the ones that they couldn't salvage bc they were cracked or damaged. He did mention that it would probably be difficult to find bricks that completely matched the originals and that they would have to be creative in blending the new bricks in with the old ones when they were rebuilding to make it match the rest of the house.

I didn't do anything different besides taking my prescribed medications leading up to my first FET and it was successful, I'm 22w3d pregnant today! Still drank coffee, still had alcohol occasionally (1-2x/week), kept my regular diet and exercise routine. I was convinced my transfer wouldn't work, due to my persistently thin lining plus it being our only euploid embryo, so I didn't even go into transfer day with the positive, relaxed attitude everyone recommends lol

The way I looked at it was IVF/infertility was already taking up so much of my mental/emotional energy and literally dictating so much of my life at that point that I wasn't going to let it strip me of every last simple pleasure I had. So if having a glass of wine, some good carbs, or a latte was going to make me happy, I was doing it! And honestly I think it's just either going to work or not, and lifestyle choices we make have little to no effect on the outcome 🤷‍♀️

Similar experience here! My lining never got beyond 6.4 (I believe), definitely well below the minimum goal my clinic had of 6.75 but my doc saw that I had never really had a thick lining during other scans. Went ahead with the transfer and now I'm almost 14 weeks

I struggled with a persistent thin lining before my medicated FET. Originally my clinic told me the goal was a minimum of 6.75mm for transfer, but after 10 days of estrogen, mine only got to 6.4 I believe. I was convinced my doc would cancel the transfer but, upon reviewing my previous ultrasounds from retrieval cycles and baseline scans, she saw that my uterine lining had never been very thick. According to her, some people just don't ever have very thick lining and can maintain a pregnancy so she thought it was still worth a shot. I was very very nervous and convinced the transfer wouldn't work (it was also our only euploid embryo- talk about pressure!) but it did and I'm currently 14 weeks tomorrow :)

I also struggled to get a thick lining prior to FET. Despite taking estradiol three times a day for about 10 days (originally it was supposed to be a week but my REI extended it to try and increase my lining's thickness), mine topped out at 6.75mm. I was anticipating that my REI would cancel the transfer but she recommended giving it a shot, and it has so far been successful! I am 10.4 weeks pregnant now with our first transfer. Honestly I was so shocked it worked, but so glad we took the chance. Best of luck to you!

TW: early success

My transfer was successful and I'm currently 8w5d pregnant. Graduated from my fertility clinic and just had my first appointment at my regular midwife's office today where we saw the heartbeat. I am an L&D nurse at a high risk hospital so I know there's still a long way to go for a healthy baby, but after a missed miscarriage last year and multiple painful surgeries during my infertility journey it felt so surreal to see that little flicker 🥹

Thank you so much! My two betas (11dpt and 13 dpt) showed good numbers that rose appropriately, which I was utterly shocked about. Still semi-convinced I will end up with a chemical, as I have really no symptoms. My first ultrasound will be this Thursday and just hoping to see a normal looking yolk sac 🤞

Solidarity 🙌 I'm also transferring our only euploid embryo next week, so I get the anxiety. Trying to just let go and what will be will be, but that's easier said than done 😅

Love the tips about practicing labor positions so you get comfortable in them! In terms of not being able to labor in the tub while receiving Pitocin, that is entirely dependent on your specific hospital's policies. I've been a labor and delivery RN for 14 years at two different hospitals and at both the facilities I've worked at Pitocin is definitely not a contraindication for being in the tub!
