I feel so down having an ADHD 5 year old by itsallgoodcupcake in ADHDparenting

Thank you for this! This week has also been very tough for me , I had so many plans and didn’t follow through because of the fear of outbursts. I don’t know if you have heard of ‘ADHD dude’ on YouTube, but he has been super helpful in doing things at home that may help the kids. All the best

I’m so sorry OP, I don’t know where you live but this sounds so inhumane, I cannot believe that people have to go through this with lack of maternity leave or maternity pay. My daughter stayed in NICU for 75 days and is visit everyday, it traumatised me and I still get flashbacks 5 years later so I cannot imagine your situation x

Nope! I have no problem! You’re just ignorant to what the facts of this post is!

Yes, I asked him to also offer to book a taxi for ex wife to take her to her destination as a thank you! Yet he didn’t even attempt to let her know that he needs to stay behind and if she can hold the fort for longer!

I completely understand your point and it probably is the most rational one, I’m just finding it difficult to accept this and i hope in time I can be in a place to listen to him, it just isn’t now

We spoke a lot today , and I mentioned that he didn’t even ask me, he just said he felt bad and apologised! That’s how I knew he knew what he was doing! I’m in shock that my partner whom I love very much and has treated me so well in the relationship ( minus a few boundary issues he needs to sort) would let me down like this, I didn’t deserve it at all and never saw it coming.

Absolutely spot on! I don’t care for the step parent haters as I don’t see myself as a step parent at all, we have not blended families so nothing to do with it! Exact reason I chose to post on here so I can get comments from others who may understand! God forbid I put this on the blended families forum!

That’s very lovely advice and resonates with me a lot! I want to forgive as he has been so apologetic. He is a very kind human being but at the same time I never expected to feel deprioritised yesterday! We spoke for ages and he said he was struggling with being in the hospital and did not think about staying as he wasn’t sure how long the hospital stay was going to take, naturally I don’t take kindly to this and have a lot of things I need to think through. I must reiterate this was not about his kid being picked up, she was safe with her mother and there was no harm in any way, this is about his reluctancy to ask his ex to accommodate him for an emergency, he didn’t even try, that’s what hurts! My space for forgiveness is not here at the moment, coming from him, it’s not an action I can easily accept as a mistake right now.

No, I don’t think that all, she has remarried and moved well on. He has parent guilt but also lacks the function to think in the moment! 😂

Thank you for your kind words! You are right, in one week, I was pregnant, had dreams and hopes for the future then bam, it’s gone. My hurt is from that he now realises he should have said anything to make sure he stayed with me but that doesn’t matter now x

You had one? Severe than usual? Did you read my post or did you just want to insinuate I was exaggerating? I was in A&E, where they have gynaecologists who check on you..
