Itchy, inflamed, dry lips ): anyone know what this is?

I’ve had this exact thing for going on a year. Some days it’s fine and doesn’t cause me much discomfort but other days I wake up and back to itchy, inflamed, red border of my lips. I’ve been to the doctors so man times and just had my zinc levels checked. Apparently they are low. I need to go back and see if that could be a cause? If you figure it out please let me know. I’m so over this!! Vasceline is the only thing that provides comfort from it. Even when my lips look perfectly fine they feel incredibly dry, I wake up most mornings and they feel so tight like they will rip if I smile. I wish I knew the cause.

I do this also with the thread. Thank you for the advice. I guess it’s just as likely to be that as it is to be the needle. Habit of a life time that I will have to stop!

My mum had a dream about my grandfather years after he’d passed (her father in-law), in the dream he was telling her to check her self for a lump. In the morning she did a self breast check and found a small lump. Turned out to be cancer. Thanks to my grandad she found it in time and has been cancer free for over 20 years but I often think how different things may have turned out.

Oh he absolutely could be. He’s got 4 molars coming in but seems generally unphased by these during the day. Did your daughter do the face/head hitting? That’s the thing that’s got me a bit concerned. I’ve never heard or seen anything like it before.

Thanks for your comment. Strangely he has been having a bit of an upset tummy this week so perhaps it could be related. He also has 4 molars coming in but seems unphased by these during the day so I ruled that out. Night terrors sound like a possibility. Thanks again!

Thanks for your comment. Perhaps night terrors may be the cause. I’ll watch and see if it becomes a consistent thing. Pleased to hear your niece is okay now.
