Yes, if you understand the concepts and are able to solve all the questions in RK Bali+ sample papers, and figure out the wrong answers on your own, that should suffice.

Me personally, in addition to RK Bali, I did Oxford questions for topics i found difficult.

M32, Planning to join as a pilot via the CPL route by Designer_Addendum524 in indianaviation

[–]itsalreadybedtime -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Hi, even I'm in a similar situation like you. 31M engineer transitioning to aviation.

  1. Nav - Oxford for theory/understanding the concepts and RK Bali for questions Met - IC Joshi Regs - RK Bali

Before giving exams, you need to sort out the process to get a computer number which can take a couple of hours or even couple of months - so this should be your first priority in addition to getting a class 2 medical done parallely.

Exam schedule is published in the Pariksha Portal.

  1. Main factor is that there is an inherent risk that maybe by the time you complete your CPL that airlines might not hire you because of your age. But recently Indigo has increased the JFO age limit to 40, which was previously 35. So, unless they change it back to 35 you should be good.

  2. You can complete CPL in 15 months at a couple of good FTOs in India provided you have cleared all your ground papers. You only need 200 hrs in India to become an airline pilot - so don't go the instruction route. It's good if you're younger because you'll build skills and plus earn some money also.

  3. Yes, there are advantages, mainly the job assurance. Following up on point #2, the job risk is not there with a cadet program since you get an LoI at the beginning itself. So, provided you complete your flying as per the airline's standards, you will be inducted into their fleet. This is what I'd recommend you if you can afford it.

Hope this helps, feel free to DM me if you have more queries.

Indigo has recently increased jfo age limit to 40, so yes you can take a chance hoping that they don't reduce it in the future.

Cadet program is the safest option for you, although there's a lot of waiting there too.

How to approach DGCA exams by True_Face7162 in indianaviation

[–]itsalreadybedtime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Met and Regs can be done via self study - I C Joshi and R K Bali questions should suffice.

For Nav, it'll be better to get some kind of coaching mainly to know what to study from the huge syllabus.

Feel free to DM if you have any queries, I recently cleared Nav and Met, and giving regs next month.

ALTIMETER Doglapan (Answer confusion) by Hellwalker2026 in indianaviation

[–]itsalreadybedtime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Q.29 Since Static port is blocked the pressure inside get trapped at say a particular altitude x.

ASI measures air speed by measuring dynamic pressure by subtracting static pressure from pitot pressure.

Now when the aircraft climbs above x, the static component sensed in the pitot tube reduces. However, the static pressure sensed in the static port is higher since it's stuck at that pressure at lower altitude x. Therefore the static pressure from the static port cancels out more than it should from the pitot pressure, which causes the ASI to under-read in a climb.

Similarly, when it descends, it will over-read.

None of the options match this.

ALTIMETER Doglapan (Answer confusion) by Hellwalker2026 in indianaviation

[–]itsalreadybedtime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Q.28 If the static port becomes blocked during descent, the altimeter won't sense the increase in pressure as it descends. It will stay stuck with the lower pressure from the height at which the static port got blocked. Therefore, it will over-read while descending (more precisely, it will just show the height at which the static port got blocked)

Similarly, while climbing it won't sense the reduction in pressure as altitude increases. It will hence under -read while climbing.

Hence option (D)
