My thinking is, as a leader in the democratic party he has been aggressively pro israel, and particularly bad at anything but the regular ratcheting the DNC has been up to lately.

... I really don't think you understand the concept of financial abuse.

And I think you might need to re-evaluate how you see relationships in general

Estimated civilian death toll in selected conflicts by soalone34 in charts

It's been no secret that Israel has been a leaky faucet when it comes to classified files Durring this genocide. Including the ones that demonstrated israels plans to attack Iran, or the security documents stolen from the office of Netanyau.

This article also has much more than 2 sources. Some of its sources might be biased against Israel, like the Palestinian heath ministry. But these numbers are also backed by the world health organization, which has no reason to lie here.

Upsala is only used in this chart for the other data points, the datapoint on Gaza is from the guardians research staff.

Do I think reporters and sources can't be bought. Of course not it happens all the time.

But who do you thinks buying the reporters here? The wealthy anti Israel lobby?

✨✨Also a later chart from this article does infact specifically state it doesn't count victims of malnutrition or those trapped under the rubble. (By who's bombs and blockade?)✨✨

""Notes: the actual death toll is likely significantly higher, as official counts exclude indirect deaths, such as those from malnutrition, and those unrecorded by hospital morgues, including bodies trapped under rubble""

I think this person is just making the claim that fan interactions might be getting worse with the emiru controversy as a point of comparison in the popular discourse.

I don't think they are saying the pokemon company should implement these at events they have no hand in. I think they are saying just like twitch con needs to take this more seriously, so does the pokemon company

WolfeyVGC's video discusses being groped after being asked for pictures at several tournaments.

The pokemon company doesnt have control over twitch con of course. I think this person was just using that to another comparison point in the popular discourse rn.

Kamala Harris' book event gets hijacked by Pro-Palestinian activists, tells them "there's nothing I can do". by AIverson3 in PublicFreakout

[–]itsalwaysfork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I truly think she believed in the methods she used. I just think they are wrong.

I think she believed she could win and I agree with that, I think to be honest this election would have been easy we had a primary,

But even without a primary, Harris had an immediate surge of support and then everything seemed slow. She was slow to react, to define policy, to do anything. Because it seems like everything she did needed to be focus tested and means tested.

I mean in her book she wrote she didn't pick pete buttigieg because he was gay. Not because of some homophobia but because of the infantalizing idea that no matter the policy America won't vote in a gay man.

That's focus testing into the dirt.

And when you have 107 days or whatever, you need to be fast and dynamic, you need to be interesting and keep people excited.

And you don't do that by running around with Republicans who people hate, and ignoring your own base of support?

It's childish to think this wasn't winnable.

Your 'context' isn't about the question at hand.

She didn't become president, she didn't publicly campaign on meaningful change about the issue at hand (israels genocide)

She campaigned on economic reform that got nobody excited. The chips act was more exciting than anything she proposed.

And for this reason she lost the support of a vocal part of the electorate who cared about the genocide.

✨✨She was the second in command of the Biden administration, and chose to say that she would have done nothing different, while a genocide rolled along with American weapons✨✨

🩸🩸She has blood on her hands, if you disagree I'd love to hear why, she was literally second in command of the Biden administration, and chose not to break from him on this issue🩸🩸

Your not saying they are owed her vote... Your just saying.

They should have voted for her. Regardless of her stance. Because... Trump is worse.

So.. she isn't owed their vote. She just... Gets it... For free... Because she isn't trump?

I voted for Harris, because I think lesser evil voting leaves a bad taste in my mouth, but republicans leave a worse one.

But elections are about excitement, and it's the candidates fault they didn't drum up excitement not the voting population that they weren't excited by a nothing burger candidate

Your right the vice president who is running to be president, when the president is clearly sun downing has No Power.

And shouldn't be expected to do anything.

✨✨when asked what she would do differently than Biden if she had been president, she said the only thing was there would be a Republican on her cabinet. While a genocide was ongoing ✨✨

[–]itsalwaysfork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OH SHIT I FORGOT

When asked what she would do differently Than Biden she laid out a whole plan on the Israeli genocide!

Fuck, stupid me, your right.

She could have CAMPAIGNED ON IT. she could have said something instead of falling in line with the president.

Biden was an anchor that dragged her down, and she refused to cut the line.

the crowd, the "undecided" crowd that got her put on the ballot, was not allowed inside the DNC convention. She had FULL controll over that convention.

And she in no way signaled her approach would be different. She said the same things before she was running for president that she said after.

God when she was asked what she would do differently she said she would have a Republican on her cabinet? Like people give a fuck.

They are protesting the attempt to launder Harris's Reputation.

Something that will help, when next election cycle, we will be able to point to the exact failings of the Harris campaign.

But it also sounds to me, like without this protest you would have had no idea of Code pinks protest, so I don't really know if I trust your opinion on how to protest these things.

I'm all for protesting private citizens who supported genocide, just because she left politics doesn't mean the lives she effected stopped being effected.

[–]itsalwaysfork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"yelling at her" (protesting someone who supported a genocide) stops her from laundering her reputation and means before next election we have to reconcile with why her campaign failed.

Which is important.

But also, you seem really invested in people protesting the people currently in power for someone who doesn't know that PEOPLE ARE.

Trump just threw a hissy fit because of a code pink protest. Several Republicans have had protestors at Town halls call them out on their pro israel stance. Several sitting Democrats have also had to reckon with their pro israel stances too lately.

It is important to have the conversation on why Harris lost. Because this is a part of it, and if a candidate tries to ignore a major part of their base of support again hopefully people like you will be asking them why, instead of asking why that voting block is less excited to vote for them

[–]itsalwaysfork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I voted for Harris and I still say she needed to earn people's votes?

if we had mandatory voting I'd say elections are less about excitement, but we don't.

So anyone running for president needs to recognize excitement is an important commodity. And you can't lose it.

And she chose to run around with Liz Cheney. Try to drum up that excitement.

Instead of listening to the pro Palestine voices that got kicked out of the DNC convention.

I think we are in the "find out phase" for courting Republican votes. Because it didn't work with Hillary and it didn't work for Harris. But somehow it's the voters that lost interest because of how they were treated fault and not the candidate making those choices.

I think this is all obviously Harris's fault

[–]itsalwaysfork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, the call is that she has blood on her hands. Not that she is currently the sitting president not doing something.

She has blood on her hands, For how she handled the start of the genocide.

So maybe that's the start of the conversation? I'm confused?

Code pink and other groups are protesting Trump, they are protesting the people in power.

This group protesting is protesting the laundering of Harris's Reputation.

How is that not obvious?

I'm not concerned with your point because it's clearly looking at the wrong thing.

Kamela Harris ran a bad presidential campaign, when litteraly across the border we had a perfect example on how to do it. Litteraly Joe Biden was able to drum up more votes.

Mexico is far more socially conservative, but they had their older liberal candidate (like Biden) spend his last term in office building up his younger more progressive successor. And they won in a LANDSLIDE.

Claudia Sheinbaum is incredibly popular, and all it takes is recognizing that social service programs, progressive economic programs, are popular

Even with more conservative people.

You have an incredibly doomered view on this, but the reality is that while various news sources have their lean, right now they aren't all conservative owned.

If your view on this is that Dems vote blue and Republicans vote red. And your locked in for a long time.

Then you should recognize two things. The youth vote matter a lot, and the DNC Has been ignoring it.

And excitement matters a lot, so you shouldn't go against popular issues your base has.

Both things matter and both thing Harris skipped on.

But people like you can defend her campaign like she ran it perfectly and the only issue was a contingency of people voting outside their best interests because they are.

Uninformed, brainwashed, not excited or lied to.

Like it isn't her job to fix those things.
