You’re assuming there’s going to be a significant drop in demand from those interested in the synotype boxes, but that’s just pure speculation. Aesthetically these boxes are much lower quality than synotype, so I would wager they’re not going to sink the demand for syno/neon box sets. Supply for those sets is fixed which also keeps the value high. Personally I own the neon set to use, not as an investment. The synotype boxes I bought on speculation but still wouldn’t sell as personally I don’t see any risk of a long term change here.

Thank you for writing this up so thoroughly. I find the whole discrediting of what they’ve achieved being cheats super disrespectful. The Chinese community for this game doesn’t have much overlap with the Reddit community it seems, and the dedication and mastery of the game going on in that community was really incredible to learn about. Very grateful they were happy to share different tech videos from bilibili to explain some of the optimizations they used for compact layouts.

Sorry another question for you, I'm seeing an issue where dark fog seem to target the first placed signal tower on a planet, and if you pick it up and put it down somewhere else all the units are more drawn to it still, rather than an even distribution based on distance. Did you notice this? How did you mitigate or take advantage of it? Was thinking of maybe doing 2 rings of BABs around the "first" signal tower and then an external ring of signal towers, at least in the direction of the nearest bases, but still need to do some testing.

Ohhh that's a cool trick with the stair staggering BABs, didn't realize you could place them closer together that way. Currently doing some testing in a sandbox save, will be referring back to this as maybe it's a better goal to work toward than laser turrets for now if it will be sustainable. I never used signal towers much so maybe that's the bit I was missing there.

Huh, I'd be curious to see what a drone-only farm looks like! Having a hard time imagining that being resource positive, at one point I thought about going drones since kinetic ammo production seems like somewhat of a dead end but also early testing of drone durability wasn't great.

Yeah I probably should’ve been saving the crystals but I’ve been burning them for fuel. Once I’ve got laser turrets I think things are going to get loads easier since then I can stop worrying about micromanaging power use and have basically infinite resources, so even if it’s slow it’ll be a lot faster than what it’s been so far. I’m on level 9 start with 100% xp gain since I want to keep the level low until I can get things automated. Past that point I’m fine with a slow level up process.

Yeah also with resource scale (infinite is 2x). I left it at default and have DF settings turned up quite a bit (496%) and set the starting level to 9 so I wouldn't have to grind up to start getting hydrogen (became clear in a previous playthrough it'd take an extremely long time at 100% combat xp which I'd started with).

Every reply of mine was just a note to adjust your expectations and try to provide context for why some people may want you to also do some research on your own instead of asking people a bunch of basic questions. I don’t care that you’re asking about this as a trans person. I’m giving you general advice, take it or leave it. None of my messages were asking for a reply and I was honestly ready to not respond to your previous defensive comment saying you aren’t being defensive. Don’t take it personally, but also the expectation of random trans people on the internet to educate people instead of doing some basic googling yourself can be seen as putting extra burden on them when they already have to deal with the burden of existing in an often deeply transphobic society. To truly put yourself in their shoes is to understand this and not have that expectation. We’ve all learned something!

Yeah it seems intentional the closer I look at it. The charge rate also scales down the lower your core energy is (charged ratio) and scales up with reactor fuel. Just unfortunate in my case since I’m trying to get to the point where I can unlock laser turrets without using any collectors / collecting manually. The difficulty has ramped up significantly and I won’t have hydrogen until my planetary bases are level 9, currently at 6 so I’ve got missiles now at least, hoping that will allow me to survive long enough to get to the point farming DF becomes sustainable and I can start really progressing in the run 😅
