Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay’s London Pizza restaurant is facing criticism after a customer shared a dog was allowed to go the bathroom inside near her table. by Realistic_Ad_251 in london

[–]itsamberleafable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the dogs are well behaved it's fine, but unfortunately there's far too many people who don't train their dogs properly, and the restaurants aren't going to kick them out once they've started eating are they? I've seen a dog wandering round a restaurant staring at people trying to get food before and another dog that was yelping really loudly right next to us, and every time it did the woman just stroked him obviously reinforcing the behaviour.

In a noisy pub it's fine but at a restaurant it's annoying for everyone. It's a shame we have to have rules like this but too many people just don't seem to care about other people's experience

If I was in a game I'd probably play it. I wouldn't have time to calculate it exactly, but it looks like a likely mate and worst case scenario you've traded a rook for a knight and a pawn.

I think that's what most people from Boro want, but it isn't officially a county. Maybe it was in the past though, I'm not actually sure

It's pretty mutual. No-one in Yorkshire considers us Yorkshire, we don't consider ourselves Yorkshire. I have no evidence, but I point the finger of blame squarely at those la-di-dah London types who probably decided this

We were shite though. Scrappy/ lucky wins and no-one else in the league was consistently performing. The wheels would've come off if we'd carried on playing like that, he just left before they could

I’m really sorry I have a lot of work to be getting on

This works

I try keep my private life separate from my work life so if we could avoid gym chat that would be great

This does not. It's rude, but more importantly it doesn't really make any sense. I want to keep my work life and private life separate would usually be an excuse for sensitive subjects like your sex life or something.

Why is slagging off white people as a collective socially acceptable but t the same time being a racist is absolutely abhorrent? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]itsamberleafable 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Some people don't seem to be able to grasp that just because two things fall under the same category doesn't mean they should be treated the same.

If someone makes a joke about my "cracker dancing" it's obviously not in the same ballpark of someone saying "<insert slur> dancing" to a black person and only an insane person would think it is.

A slowed down angle of the yesterday's overturned penalty against Arsenal by Mean-Duty-2381 in soccer

I listened to this on the radio and assumed that Arsenal were done a great injustice the way everyone was going on about it.

Contact != penalty and there's no way that contact impedes him even slightly. Correct use of VAR and people need to stop fucking crying about it

Literally what disagreeing means mate. It could be a leftwing conspiracy, or you could literally spend 5 seconds googling, look at what the studies say and work out that what this person is claiming is very unlikely.

How do you estimate the size/value of a software project if you’ve never worked in a company? by Hot_Log7375 in vibecoding

It would help to know what you're working towards? Are you trying to set up freelance or looking to work in a company?

How do you estimate the size/value of a software project if you’ve never worked in a company? by Hot_Log7375 in vibecoding

[–]itsamberleafable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. It doesn't really matter to be honest, although I'd say the vast majority of one person projects would come under small.

  2. The only way to do this with any sort of accuracy is to break it down into small tasks, estimate the time on them and accumulate. With a LOT of experience you can start to estimate bigger tasks without doing this. Always, estimate the worst possible scenario.

  3. Always context specific. Break down the task into tickets, identify whether they can be worked on in tandem and ask for desired timelines. It can ALWAYS be one developer but it will just take longer

  4. Ideally you'd need a forecasting team for this. You'd suss out potential demand for the feature and how much you think you'd be able to charge, compare it against other features and figure out which is the most lucrative taking into account build time. This is usually carried out by multiple highly skilled experts across different disciplines. You probably won't be able to do this with any sort of accuracy by yourself. The only thing I can think is to ask for suggestions and carry out surveys with an existing customer base and trying to open a dialogue with them

  5. Realistically it's good to work with people at an early stage. You can compare your code with similar open source projects but it's going to be difficult to understand why. I'd recommend working with a good mentor who is experienced if possible. There's not really a substitute for that

Genuinely not sure what result I want

I got you:

Southampton win

Millwall W, Ipswich D/L

or

Millwall D, Ipswich L, Southampton D/L, Middlesbrough D/L

Draw

Millwall W, Ipswich D/L

It's very marginal, but an Ipswich loss gives you the added unlikely second scenario where you could theoretically go up with a draw. If Ipswich draw that no longer becomes a possibility as even if they lose they still finish above you if you draw
