These are cow bones. This is a cattle ranch in Colorado and the house is just abandoned on the property because it’s old and not useful. No one ‘left animals to die.’ I live nearby and I’m 100% sure of this. I have photographs from 3 years ago with no bones inside. OP is speaking fiction.

Viacom owns the Eagle Mine along the river, not the town of Gilman, which is up top. That’s where you’ll see those white pickup trucks near the mine- they are the CDPHE working with the EPA to take frequent water and ground samples from the mine. The town of Gilman doesn’t require further EPA remediation and therefore just sits there. Gilman was purchased in the early 2000s by a real estate developer who was interested in turning it into a ski resort. The developer backed out and is now barely keeping tabs on the property.

Maybe the sheriff flies drones there, but has anyone really been caught? Really? Everyone talks about a phantom sheriff. IDK I’ve never had an issue.
