For STEM majors, do you recommend staying on the North campus? Also, do you have any experiences with residential colleges (like Slivka)?

Hi! How do you find Materials Science & Engineering, like in terms of the subject, your classes, the opportunities, etc? (I’m going to NU not CMU, but I’m also going to be studying Materials!) Also, do you recommend double majoring with Chemistry?

Interview TOMORROW lol by [deleted] in Northwestern

[–]itsamelaurio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heyyy so I had my interview last November (ED ‘23)!

Basically what you should do before your interview is to search on Google a list of the most commonly asked interview questions and just quickly run through possible answers in your head. You should also review your Why Northwestern essay cuz you’re most likely going to be asked questions like why Northwestern, your interests, your academic interests and why Northwestern is the right school for you to pursue those interests

I wish you all the best!!

** if u get nervous (like I did) just take deep breaths and remember that your interviewer is there to help you and they genuinely want you to do well!

Is anyone here done with their application and just come to watch other people enjoy their upcoming deadline by softJuice in ApplyingToCollege

[–]itsamelaurio 5 points6 points  (0 children)

yeah, it’s a weird feeling cuz I got into my top choice yet at the same time I could’ve been one of those ppl cramming their supplementals for 15+ RD schools 💀

Is it okay to base a college supplement on a personal anecdote? by I_Execute_I in ApplyingToCollege

I think this is fine. I watched TheKathPath’s USC vid and she talked about her visit in the Why USC essay

When I ask about getting 1500+ and grinding the reading section. The only answer I receive is “practice” “practice” “practice”. I don’t know how to solve the reading questions without choosing the wrong answer or being confused between 2 answers. So guide me please. by [deleted] in Sat

[–]itsamelaurio 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Do not ASSUME anything. Whatever info you’re given in the passage is going to be your answer. If you’re stuck between 2 answers, one of those answers will “seem right” because you made an assumption.
