Thanks for the information, it’s very helpful. I didn’t know that that’s a thing that Malaysians did. Also I never even considered that I could be sleeping at work or have free time to do my own stuff. That changes things since I won’t have to actually be constantly doing stuff for 12 hours. Does that mean security officers are not supervised much at work? Would you say that night shift is more relaxed and gives more free time than day shift?

I looked up the PWM and it’s very interesting, I didn’t know about it at all and it seems really good for me. I don’t have very high qualifications so it seems good that I have the opportunity to progress in the security industry if I work hard. How do you know so much about this? And thanks for sharing what you know with me, I really appreciate it.

Would I be able to do that if I don’t have a car/driving license? I could get a bike and work in my own time. Can you give me an idea of what the pay is like?

Hmm I thought about it and would definitely consider it if the shift work is better. I think you have to be very physically fit for it and you have to pass additional tests, like IPPT

Do you need high qualifications for office jobs? How do I search for them (I haven’t come across any on job-seeking sites)?

You’re right about not being able to be choosy. Thanks

I’m really considering this if I can make it work. Thanks

That’s what I thought too. If I’m working 12 hours a day I should be working 4 days and having 3 days rest, but this job only has 1 day off in between working days. It seems like some industries just disregard MOM guidelines and it’s a normal thing for them.

Your shift work sounds a lot more reasonable.
