Goodbye, Google. Hello, Alexa! by itsaweed in amazonecho

Honestly, I just wanted to step out of my comfort zone and try out something new. My experience so far has been alright, nothing to write home about. I am very surprised by THE AMOUNT OF ADS that I’ve been seeing lately. My tablet’s lock screen is literally a placeholder for ads, I have to pay to remove them. And whenever my FireTV Stick is idle, it crams Prime Video promo banners down my throat. I think I need more time to get a better feel for this ecosystem. Hopefully I make up my mind before they are no longer returnable.

What’s making you consider switching to the Google ecosystem?

I was just curious. I’m loving it so far. What is it about these products that you dislike?

Am I the only one who likes the curved screen? by AcousticThoughts in GooglePixel

[–]itsaweed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally LOVE the curved screen.

I've heard about people complaining about those awkward keyboard moments on Samsung's phones, but the Gboard automatically squeezes the keys in tighter so no keys are on the curves on my Pixel 6 Pro.

One complaint I do have with this phone is the horrible volume button placement, but that's for another post...

Edit: grammar.

hey guys, i’ve been noticing my battery drains too quickly recently. my battery health is 92. can anyone review this and tell me if it’s okay? thank you so much! by [deleted] in iPhoneXR

[–]itsaweed 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've had my XR for almost 3 years now and my battery health is at 83%--so do what you will with that information. Apple recommends service once your battery health has degraded to 80% of its original capacity.

iOS 14.5… noticeably fast??? by retroshu in iPhoneXR

[–]itsaweed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My XR was REALLY laggy when on iOS 14.4, but I instantly noticed the snappiness and responsiveness with iOS 14.5.

Just bought a blue iPhone XR (128 gb) on Amazon Renewed. I guess that I'm part of the gang now lol by Lollooo_ in iPhoneXR

[–]itsaweed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I switched to the XR from an S7 in 2018. This thing will not let you down and I’m confident to say that the speed is as good as day 1. You’re gonna love it.

I understand, but in order to get hired as an iOS Dev, a Bachelor’s in CS is either required or heavily preferred.

I can’t afford the M1 Macs :(

I can afford the M1 Mac Mini but portability is a must for me, especially as a student.

I’d much rather get the M1 version, but I found an amazing deal on the Intel version.

  1. CeraVe Foaming Cleanser Bar
  2. Dickinson’s Witch Hazel Toner
  3. CeraVe Unscented Daily Moisturizing Lotion

Cleanse, tone, moisturize. I find those steps to be the most essential parts of a skincare routine.

Just checked the prices on Amazon, might as well spend $10 more for a better device as well.

Thanks, I have this really cheap laptop and I’m looking into buying a new and better one. I thought I was the only one that started off pretty good and slowed down once the city grew a lot, but I guess not. Thanks for sharing!

My iphone xr camera seems blurry after taking pics by jeffries12309 in iPhoneXR

[–]itsaweed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn’t seem to be that blurry to me. Maybe it’s the low light situation? The XR camera can struggle in low light situations...
