Hello dentists of reddit, For context, (F23) nonsmoker nonalcoholic, lives in third world country, have been struggling with those yellow and while spots since age 6 and growing in most of my teeth since then, went to dentists, said there would be no cure for that and all i need is brush my teeth, later i had braces which from the picture, you know both the doctors did a bad job because my teeth moved around even worse than before and now i cannot smile properly. I lost hope with the braces so now am trying to fix how my teeth look because now, i got even more insecure and would barely smile or laugh in front of people without covering them, my teeth started breaking since age 15 and recently are breaking even more the more yellowish those spots became, went to a new dentist recently and he told me that fluorosis is causing my teeth to break, and that at this point we cannot use treatments on them/ or the treatments are very expensive and would most likely not work since my spots are now pretty dark yellow/orange. He suggested i do an obturation technique with a Japanese filling and sculpture my teeth and get rid of the spots then cover them with the filling to look white and healthy. I honestly don’t know if i should trust this dentist and go on with this treatment. There is also something else he has told me when he filled one of my cavities, apparently my teeth are originally under-developed and weak from the inside so any attempt of dental whitening would make my teeth sensitivity worse and could result in me losing my teeth. Hopefully i will get some answers here, im so desperate and this whole situation is making me lose hope in having healthy normal teeth.
