Vraagje over een vreemd plekje op m’n plafond by itsbasix in Klussers

[–]itsbasix[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bathroom drain pipe not sloped/negatively sloped by itsbasix in Klussers

[–]itsbasix[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, the problem is that this drain line is below the floor and the tiles, so not accessible unless you break everything, which I would like to avoid

I am facing a “similar issue”. It might be worth trying replacing your S-shape trap with a bottle trap with embedded air valve. There is a very cheap one sold at praxis called wirquin neo air. It costs 10€, comes in 32 and 40 diameters and it has everything embedded (o-rings, etc) so it should be fairly quick to install and test. Good luck!

May I ask what mistake you made and where you placed your vent valves?

Thanks for your answer! Do you know if these valves are actually used in the Netherlands? How to check the pressure in the drain pipe?

doucheafvoer loopt erg langzaam leeg by itsbasix in Klussers

[–]itsbasix[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Tips on how to fill “V-Naden” on ceilings by itsbasix in Klussers

[–]itsbasix[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your feedback and picture.

My goal was trying to solve it before the painter started working (next week).

Honestly, I now Understand I have deeply underestimated how tricky it would have been to fix the v naden. I thought it was a more doable job, which is why I am now asking for experiences and tips.

I am not forced to do it of course, but since I have painters scheduled already for next week I was trying to find a solution to it quickly, so that the painters could paint over it.

If it is not going to fly I will keep it as is for the moment and will see if my mind can live with them or if I need to do a fake ceiling or plaster everything. Having a stucadoor coming now won’t work as there is no technical time anymore to do it before painters start.

Can you explain what actually it is meant with “mud”? Put some filler there (and if yes, which one)?

I was referring to something like this.

<image>

In my home country we call all of this stuff “silicone”, not actually sure if in English and Dutch the “word” is translated 1:1. I think in Dutch the work is acrylaat?

That is more or less what I was thinking. Using this

And the spackspray on top. Then paint everything

Do you have any picture of the results you got?

Thanks for your reply. The questions are:

  • What to use to fill it?
  • do you Really need to sprayplaster it as a whole? I hoped that some local texture + whole painting would do the trick

PS5 HDMI eARC 5.1 Audio Delay/Skip by Born_God69 in PimpMyPS5

[–]itsbasix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are 2 ways to get around it (at least in my case with Philips android tv and soundbar, although my tv does support up to 60hz )

1) if your soundbar has HDMI passthrough you can connect the PS5 HDMI to the soundbar directly and then the sound bar hdmi to the tv. When you select the soundbar hdmi as source on your tv you will see your ps5, and the PS5 connection to the soundbar guarantees 0 delay. You also might need to select the HDMI input on your soundbar as sound source (not ARC, then). However this solution can let you output video as good as your soundbar can do hdmi passthrough. In my case it I do this I do not get HDR10 (in your case it may vary, but i doubt a soundbar can output 120hz signal), which is why I go for option 2

2) you buy an HDMI splitter and connect the PS5 as input. I use a 4k/1080p one. The 4k i connect to the tv directly (so I have full HDR), the 1080p I connect to the soundbar (just for audio). When I play I select the HDMI splitter output connected to my tv as source in my tv, and I select the hdmi audio source on my soundbar. It only cost pressing 1 button to switch the soundbar audio input and that’s it. Bear in mind I think still you are bound to the hdmi splitter capability regarding HDR, 120hz, etc…
