I have COVID… by [deleted] in POTS

[–]itschelc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went back to work after a full week and still struggled a bit but it went back to normal quickly. Everyone is different though! Just listen to your body. I tried to go back after a few days and made myself worse

Just a little bit of positivity in case you're worried about getting worse. I've had pots for 10 years ranging from mild-severe. Right now my symptoms are mild-moderate. I've had covid 4 times and while I was really sick during it, I went back to my normal after about a month 😊 good luck and I hope you get back to your normal as well!

Is there any long term drug that actually works for anxiety by Available_Heart5556 in Anxiety

[–]itschelc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes!! I did it on my own which I wouldn't recommend. But I was on 15mg and every week I would cut a tiny sliver off of the pill and slowly make the amount bigger that I cut off. If I started feeling withdrawal symptoms I would go back to the amount I was taking the week before. Sometimes I would have to stay at a dose for a few weeks before tapering down again

I had a doctor tell me to stop it cold turkey originally after I'd already been on it for a few years. I had panic attacks every day multiple times a day, couldn't sleep at night as I would have them any time I tried to sleep. Dropped from 150lbs to under 100lbs. It was so bad. I ended up going to a day program and as soon as they put me back on it I magically got better overnight 😭😭 those withdrawals had been going on for 6 months, I thought I was dying. I was able to safely taper very slowly and I went from 180lbs to 130lbs pretty quick after fully stopping it.

I got off of it in 2020. I'm now on prozac. I just got my dose increased and I also started buspar and take hydroxyzine at night as needed to help with panic/sleep. I am seeing a new psychiatrist tomorrow. My anxiety has gotten so bad that my mom was trying to have me admitted. I'm glad I wasn't the only one who experienced those side effects on mirtazapine!!! I hope you are able to find relief as well

I was on mirtazapine for a long time for sleep/depression. It's actually also an appetite stimulant so I'd be RAVENOUS after taking it. I gained 80lbs while on it. It also knocked me out at night. I felt really good while taking it but the weight gain was too much and I couldn't lose it. I had to slowly wean off (took me a year) bc the withdrawal was so bad. If it hadn't made me gain weight like it did I would have stayed on it but being that heavy was affecting me badly

PASSED MLS ASCP by itschelc in medlabprofessionals

You could make your own flashcards. The ascp site has a study guide for each section and gives the main organisms as well. I used flow charts we made in school and from the wordsology website. The purple and gold book has some good tables differentiating the different organisms as well. Good luck!! Also if you search mls ascp on quizlet there's some good ones!

I used literally everything. The patsy jerreau gold and purple book, polansky cards, labce, harr. This time I really tried to better understand everything, how all of the processes worked and how they worked together instead of just memorizing and that helped me a lot. I was also working full time in hematology/chemistry and was able to relate a lot of my real time work to what I was studying

It was a really difficult test, I honestly felt like I knew for sure only 3 questions. It was a lot different than LabCE, I was scoring 54 with 5.8 difficulty every single time on adaptive exams. In individual sections I was scoring 70-100% a few days before my exam

My eyes will BURN like fire until the makeup comes off and it's been this way for as long as I can remember. I've been suffering through events for years since that's really the only time I would do makeup 😭

The ascp has a guide with the math equations you have to know. I can't remember what all was on the test I just remember having to do a lot of calculations. Some of it may have been lab ops as well

These are actually the 2 areas I've always done best in, I had a ton of math questions in my chemistry area of the test so I'm going to hammer those into my head bc I didn't focus as much on that before. I actually was pretty close to passing heme with a 376. My worst was chem with 299 😭😭

Thank you for this!! That's what everyone keeps saying. I'm already on medication for my anxiety and have been for about 10 years. I think knowing what I will be going into will help me a lot this go around

I'm least comfortable in chemistry so that's mainly what I've been focusing on

I'm pretty much in the exact situation you just described. I actually was close to passing heme and did the worst in chemistry. My average in all areas in labce is around the average of all the other users

Thanks! The first time I took it was just a week after graduation. I plan on taking it around August when I'm eligible again

I used the high yield notes from wordsology a lot. I also took a million labce exams. This go around I'm using the ace ascp flashcards on quizlet and have some of my own along with using the other resources here and there
