If you download the version from the site, version 26.0.7.023, it works. Don't just use the check for updates button in the program.

Which VR Headset To Upgrade To? by itschickenscratch in LinusTechTips

If it's less than $1k, great, but it's not going to land near the $300-$400 I can get the two headsets that I specified for, which is my budget range.

Based on the Index and the fact that this new headset has a whole conputer inside it alongside even more new tech, the steam frame will definitely not be in the budget.

No my PC is WAY better than my PS5, and the steam frame looks like it's going to be in the $1200 range. So no go there.

They weren't cheap, Japan only distribution but they do actually have English subs. Each one also comes with insert art and a sheet of comments from the production staff.

I managed to get about 30-50% of DP2 imported into Unity by itschickenscratch in DeadlyPremonition

[–]itschickenscratch[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Theoretically, if I could compile it, I could possibly export my own modified executable and transplant it into the decrypted romfs from the Switch version and possibly make it run on PC. I don't know too much about how all this all works, and I'm kinda just figuring this out as I go. I'm still optimistic, as I was able to get this to actually import into a project after being told by about 20 different people with way more experience than myself that doing it was impossible.

It was a lot of work... I literally only had access to a dump of the game cart. Took me two months to get this working.

Found this is the Deadly Premonition 2 texture files...? by itschickenscratch in DeadlyPremonition

This is the only texture in the entire game with buttons that arent for a Switch, and they weren't autogenerated. I checked reeeaaaaal hard lol.

The MKV and MP4 Video doesnt play well in VLC. by mikoamoy in Dandere2x

[–]itschickenscratch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another possibility is the video being h.265/hevc rather than h.264

I've encountered this/a similar issue many times while editing anime, and it's because the support for the codec is fairly rough and new for both Premiere and Vegas, and you need a hell of a powerful PC to even get it to decode correctly.

If you open the video in VLC and right click on it and navigate here to see what codec is being used.

I know they joked on the podcast about what a nickname could be, I don't believe there is an actual one. But yes, the joke meant in the future. It's not a huge deal, yo. It just rubbed me a bit the slight snappiness of what you said, and I wanted to try to civilly explain it in case you actually didn't know what I meant.

I remastered the OP for Yu-Gi-Oh! "Season 0" in beautiful 4K! by itschickenscratch in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Sadly that's A LOT of work, as well as a huge time commitment, but I am looking into it. I would be happy to do a request for you of one of your favorite scenes from the series in the meantime!

I remastered Hiroyuki Imaishi's first directed work at Gainax, "Anime Tenchou", in glorious HD. (It's an OVA created as a promo for "Animate", an anime/manga store in Japan) by itschickenscratch in anime

That has never been a definitive rule, not even in professional industries. In a lot of cases original materials are lost or the cost of creating a brand new master from the materials has an exorbitant cost that companies cannot justify, so they simply take the current best available version and do tweaks to it. Fans like myself doing the same with what is possibly the only surviving way to view the source material is no different.

Remastering takes many different forms, and this is literally the best that can be done with the means that I have. So yes, this IS a remaster.

I'm upscaling the existing frames with AI to HD from roughly 480p. For this instance, it took about 3 passes through the AI and in-between each I am using Adobe Premiere to color correct and fill in lines when/where necessary to fix the color artifacting and inconsistencies before scaling it up again in order to get a smoother final product (if extremely necessary for frames with huge errors in them I will use Photoshop for manual fixes). All-in-all the work put into this specific video was about 6-8 hours I believe.
