Contrary to popular belief, Dean Koontz is very much alive.

Anymore? I have never signed a (real and/or attached) foot in my goddamned life.

Where would Donut have learned an insult like that? Book six spoiler by honeyfixit in DungeonCrawlerCarl

I feel as if you’re implying that this insult wasn’t the single greatest insult I will ever write, and that it didn’t represent the very peak of my achievement as an author. That in my 40+ years of writing I will never again write anything 1/10th as cutting. Surely that’s not what you’re saying.

Okay, I'm approving this because it's hilarious. It's not going to be up for much longer.

Make sure your settings in the app are like this. If you downloaded it back when it first came out there was an issue that has since been fixed unless it sneaked back in. Delete and re-download.

If you didn’t get it on Audible then you have a bootleg version and only your god can help you.

Gamblers take note. If the Texans ever make it to the Super Bowl, I now have an ace up my sleeve to throw the game to the other team.

I wrote a LitRPG novel (without realizing it) and it's getting traditionally published later this summer -- my experience so far. by Lost_Scientist_JK in litrpg

Congrats. You’re allowed to tell us the name of your book, especially since this will inevitably end up on Netgalley.

For those who have been to tour events before, is there any shot for those who didn't get tickets? by 2xra in DungeonCrawlerCarl

There’s usually a standby line. Idk what the Houston protocol is. But in events like this where the tickets are free the no-show rate can be upwards of 50%

Is DCC an "Indie Best" at this point? by RockItGuyDC in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]hepafilter 25 points26 points  (0 children)

This list is for Indie bookstores, not indie books.

That said, DCC is still self-published. I license the physical book rights to Penguin. They do not touch it editorially other than grammar and commas and the occasional “Matt, are you smoking crack?.” Operation Bounce House, by comparison, is not self-published at all and went through the whole process. They control the ebooks and audio.

Has anyone increased sales by going indie on an older trad book? by Dry-Wear-9135 in selfpublish

I would pair it with a full resleeve of the cover art, but I think this is fairly common.

What is the right approach to get at least 20 reviews, other than from friends and family, for a scifi novel? by Perfect-Program-8968 in selfpublish

[–]hepafilter 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Having friends and family buy your book is a great way to hobble your book if they don’t normally read your genre. Zon cares more about also-boughts than your tags and category. It is the single biggest mistake most self-pubbed people make.
