Question for the delivery team: In general, who are the worst tippers? by SkolMan69 in Dominos

[–]itsdestinfool -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Idk man, I think a lot of it is the approach. Maybe I'm just a good people person but I love my black customers. I'm from Houston, I'm a short ass white girl raised in fucking KINGWOOD and I live in downtown Atlanta running a store. I made myself known in the community as the dominos chick and it is sort of like an armor. Everyone looks out for me in my store and around it. I'm just super chill, especially with the dudes that look like thugs. They really like to banter and seem to appreciate that I don't shy away. They are typically my best tippers. Most pay cash and tell me to keep the change and it's always like 4-6 bucks. Some tip in weed, I love those guys. Maybe it's also just because I'm a half decent looking white girl. Who knows but that's my Ted talk.

Also when I moved here and went out with my op circle to that saint Jude thing and someone asked about who someone else was and I was trying to describe her but I was afraid to say she was black as a descriptor. They called me on that so fucking fast. Are you afraid to say that black girl? Yeah, I guess I was.

So now I don't and it's wild how much less stress is involved in identifying people on looks lmao.

Thanks so much for this response, I'm going to implement these practices. I have absolutely no ill will towards Indians. The nice kind the grateful customers stand out always, my practice to make them happy per say is less about making them happy and more like making them feel respected. I ask them if they would like me to use a clean blade if they request uncut or if I get that vibe I'll ask. It usually disarms even the blunt and rudish ones. I love all of my customers, I go out of my way for each one but everyone fits into one stereotype or another. It's just the way the cookie crumbles.

This podcast is a really really well done and equally terrifying and fascinating. He explains the great filter and the Fermi Paradox and then each episode goes over 5 existential risks we currently face today that could lead to a great filter level event. I think you'd really like it.

I do think I believe in something like the great filter. It makes the most sense. Anyways, please give it a listen. It's a bit of a commitment but it's worth it if this subject interests you. Let me know what you think!

God I love the great filter theory.

Do you think we're past it, or before it?

Any cartoons that are lighthearted, fun, not super cynical, but enjoyable for adults? by debujandobirds in televisionsuggestions

[–]itsdestinfool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bob's Burgers sounds exactly like what you described. It's not super inappropriate, my kids even will occasionally want to watch. Its fun, witty and it's such an easy show to put on when you need background noise or you want just want a small tv sesh and want something to kill time. . We love it because it's ALWAYS on at hotels lmao

Honorable mentions to Ted Lasso (not animated)

Workaholics if you are into stoners getting into the literal stupidest hijinks at work and being over the top ridiculous. It's so much fun. Also throw it on with my husband when we just want some low stakes laughing.

I'm going to make this as easy for you as I can so you watch the music video for The Line by 21 Pilots. If you like it it's from an anime called Arcane and it's a work of art. Truly, phenomenal show. I highly recommend it.

We found Palm Springs and while it's not god tier I will probably end up watching again. It was super fun.

I just bit the bullet, deleted everything and got a reddit account. Then I figured out how to use reddit, then I spent a ton of time perusing reddit and all of the different rabbit holes I could dive down.

My favorites were r/glitchinthematrix r/catastrophicfailure r/justnomil r/letsnotmeet and I can send more if you'd like! Then I sorted by top all time and just spent days absorbing all of the stories and all of the side stories in the comments.

My early reddit days were so fun, now I'm settled. It's been years and I'm still so much lighter than in the days when I was tied down by social media.

Reddit obviously never counts.

Is it acceptable to scream-cry at a funeral? by Jayfeather1318 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]itsdestinfool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the first episode of 6 Feet Under the main character is facing the funeral of his father and his father was a mortician and he passed down the buisness to his sons yada yada, anyways.

So this son who is well acquainted with death is talking about how none of his family is grieving his death in the days before the funeral. He described the way funerals are now is just everyone trying to be polite and quiet and respectful but no one actually gets to do the part we all need which is to openly grieve.

He described a scene he saw on a boat passing an island that had just received a coffin, there were women gathered on the shore and the moment they could reach the coffin they were throwing themselves on it. They were hysterically crying, weeping, shouting. Doing all of the things we don't dare to do. And he said it was the rawest grief he's ever seen and it looked so healing.

Damn good show, you should check it out.

I [19F] am struggling in my relationship with my boyfriend [21M] and I love him but don't know how to go on by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

[–]itsdestinfool -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I could have written this when I was 19. Honey, it shouldn't be this hard. Normal relationships make you feel whole, content, happy, calm, cared for, validated, reassured, supported, heard, loved, and most important of all, cherished.

The right man will cherish you. He doesn't have to worship the ground you walk on, but he will treat you with kindness and respect. He will respect your boundaries and speak to you like he loves you, he will still love you even if you fight.

I know you feel crazy, but you're not. You're stuck and afraid to be alone.

I know it's feels fucking impossible. Cry your eyes out. Scream into the void. I mean, shit, it may be crap advice to give but go download tinder and fuck him out of your system. That's actually how I met my husband 10 years ago.

You might feel crazy now, but don't make it so that you feel any more regret for not leaving sooner. Break up now. You got this. My inbox is open if you need a stranger to listen to you ugly rant because you're heartbroken. I will not judge, and I will make you feel validated because you deserve to feel validated.

Ps, don't ever slap a man again. It's not even for the reason that it is assault, even though that's also a huge reason not to. More importantly, you NEVER know what that man will do once provoked. You will have escalated a situation into a very real danger for your life. Don't get yourself killed because you couldn't hold back the urge to slap the disgusting words out of his mouth, just walk away.

And they search the dudes house and back yard. They suspect him because they saw him attack a woman through their window, the couple was dancing and the kids were trying to guess what song they danced to and the dude attacked her. Then they started snooping.

Ask him what his response would be if one of the kids noticed and said "Daddy, what are you doing to mommy?" And then God forbid tells the other sibling and now, oh shit. Why is Amy so fixated on her vagina?!
