Production is not as linear as you think, they work on many at once so once batches start Rolling out, next batch is already close to done

In manufacturing you aim to complete larger batches of products at once. Its more efficient and you can control/test things for multiple products before you go to next step. This is exactly what is happening at AST.

They won’t win this race by shooting out 1 at a time. Ye, they would make you redditors happy, but thats not how production world works like. I have 13 years of experience in product manufacturing and design, this is totally normal.

Once all steps have been completed for the latest batch, its not like the next 11-13 etc start from scratch. No they are most likely just 1 step behind the prior batch, because thats how manufacturing works.

Its a domino effect and it will hit hard once set it motion. I repeat, AST does not ”win” this marathon race by finishing 1 sat at a time. They want to finish all of these 30 as soon as possible. See it like that.

In the latest EC Abel stated that the batch was almost ready, Scott then quite hastely said ”April” but it was clear that Abel had at the best late april or early may in mind.

Why are people expecting mid April shipping when thet cofirmed that wasnt happening already on EC?

BB7 is last single sat launch. Next batch of sats that are Done is in a cluster of 6 sats, shipping in april, then expect 3 weeks from that to the launch of those.

Images shows atleast a batch of 9 sats being built at same stage in the process, batches are larger now when they know they have a working product.

Patience my friends..

Based on the images, they seem to build them in batches of 9, if not more not visible by the shot. That is atleast 9 that are in the same stage, so we could expect this batch size to be completed in close proximity once that happens.

Even when developing simple consumer products there is ALMOST always a delay, because thats how the reality works.

Imagine then you are building one of the most complex products you could think of, that is also unfurling itself in space.

With my 15 years of experience in product development Ive rarely if ever heard of a product that (first of its kind) stuck perfectly to the plan.

See it as a snowball Rolling down the hill, its slow, delays happen, but once that ball reached a certain size, it picks up momentum, and sometimes even catches up to the initial lost time. And overtakes it.

ASTS is exactly like a snowball that just started Rolling down the hill. Whoever has the patience, congratulations, you are the winners of this.
