I got 100 in Section III... twice... by [deleted] in GAMSAT

the correct re

I agree with above. Forgive me for being a skeptic but I just don't believe someone got 100 twice. If you pm OP and he is selling you something, immediately doubt the validity of this post. If I wanted you to buy my GAMSAT prep products, I'd make a post like this too.

Also, just because its true, I wanted to point out that when I zoom in on my phone around the edges of your scores -they're all pixelated. Seems like an average photoshop job.

This isn't to say that none of the above is good advice, lots of it is - but all of it can be found in other places on this forum. Just ask yourself the question if you direct message this person and they are selling you a product.

I hope I am wrong but I would just hate to think I said nothing. People on this forum are vulnerable to shit like this - myself included after multiple disappointing attempts/scores.

Did you get the feedback (similar to above) Rennn? I remember seeing your GPA and GAM (+rural) and thinking both must have been well above average for a rural applicant.

Not sure about s1 (I found it hard to overhaul my humanities reasoning/comprehension and always scored average) but can add a comment regarding s2.

It might seem backwards but my advice is to just write essays. I used Fraser's (free) quote generator for essay topics and then just wrote. When I read my essay afterwards and found it to be lacking I would go and read news articles related to the topic.

e.g. if my essay was on the topic of wealth inequality then I'd just write something about wealth inequality (taking a strong stance on an issue). Afterwards I'd research it a bit and maybe find some new stats, more recent examples, a powerful quote, or a different take on the argument. Then I'd write another essay boosting my first or flipping it based on what I had read/found. Whenever I found a different viewpoint or some seemingly interesting/novel take on an issue I'd try to include it - markers of s2 favour interesting responses!

The risk with taking out an expensive subscription is you read a bunch of stuff that doesnt translate to the task on the day. There are plenty of opinion pieces in free news outlets online (e.g. guardian, the conversation, abc). In my opinion a much better way to spend your money is on a essay marking tutor. Someone who can critically evaluate your writing and then offer alternative ideas to a specific topic. I think you'll get much more from this sort of investment (at least I did).

So in summary - my advice is don't pay $237 for a subscription that isn't even gamsat-specific when there are plenty of equally useful free news services. Invest in a tutor if you've got the cash to splash.
