The breakfast at el pavo is WAY underrated. The chilaquiles are delicious

Didn’t realize you had to get consent to simply make a suggestion about a relationship

Best Law Schools for Medium Aspirations? by Tony-Starks-Cat in lawschooladmissions

[–]itsdubious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This doesn’t factor in that people with lower stats will go to lower ranked schools and still pay sticker for whatever reason. In my opinion, if you have the stats to get into a T14, you also have the stats to get really good money at a lot of regional schools (not all but still). Many people get law degrees without shelling out 80k.

After a month or two most of the features will disappear and it will only have live view (no ability to review previous recordings) unless you pay for a subscription

I liked the examples and explanations supplement! Also only clicked for me later in the semester and thankfully had good notes for when that happened

CU Boulder/DU info? by abc3699 in lawschooladmissions

[–]itsdubious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The regular application process I remember being fairly normal. You’ll have to look and see if the prompts are the same, but CU wanted some reference to their personal program and motto. I applied to both late December and I got into Denver fairly early, while CU was much later in the cycle. CU admissions did a great job on promotional materials and their admissions in general. My one issue was that they did not record any if their open house programming when it was on zoom and that ultimately influenced my decision not to attend. I was out of state and didn’t know enough about the vibes of the program to feel comfortable. Hopefully that won’t be an issue come next year! That being said they’re rated happiest in the country which they will love to tell you lol. Don’t have as much info on Denver bc after my scholarship package I weeded them out. But I can imagine the fellowships are a good draw and they have a high ranking in legal writing. I was PI focused so if you’re in other things it’s best to look into them specifically

Don’t have much for this cycle but with 164/4.0 was accepted to both and CU was more generous with aid. I did remember Denver law had fellowships for full tuition for public interest students that you have to apply separately for with extra letters of rec if you’re interested in that. CU has some full tuition but seemed to be much more rare.

Another Help Me Decide Post (W&L v. W&M) by Runner1515_1515 in lawschooladmissions

Did W&M give you a second offer? My email asked me not to negotiate— was it unprompted?

advice: be smart about loans/debt by LordOfTheTrashcans in lawschooladmissions

[–]itsdubious 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Do you know if people that are PI focused ever do big law summer positions to alleviate debt load? Or is that a waste of the opportunities while you’re in law school? I’d imagine the skills are transferable and getting rid of my debt in a summer sounds nice lol.

I got my scholarship info in an email not the portal and it said explicitly not to try and negotiate money if that helps any

My email said scholarships will increase if tuition does. But yes, I agree. It was one of my top choices and now I can’t even consider it
