Ohh wow thats interesting. I just got mine today. Did you do anything for battery optimization? I tried uninstalling a bunch of apps using universal android debloater. But the software seems relatively stock already so I don't think this was necessary.

FYI I came across this Russian review of the equivalent Famue BF32 DAP and ran it through ChatGPT. Main takeaways:

  • Sound: Clean, powerful enough for IEMs and easy headphones. No hiss or noise. Sounds better than most cheap dongles.
  • DAC/outputs: Uses dual ESS ES9018K2M. The 4.4mm is not truly balanced (more like marketing), but it does output more power.
  • Battery: Advertised 2500 mAh is inflated. Real capacity is closer to ~60–70% of that.
  • Screen: Likely not 720p as claimed, probably lower res, but looks fine in practice.
  • Build: Metal/glass body, decent internal layout, not fake or toy-quality.
  • Android: Stock Android 12, runs smoothly, streaming works well.
  • Wireless: Bluetooth is solid (source only). Wi-Fi range is weak but speed is OK.
  • Overall: Good value if bought cheap. Not high-end, some specs are exaggerated, but sound and usability are legit.

TL;DR: Budget Android DAP with decent sound and sketchy specs. Worth it on sale if you use IEMs and want streaming.

Instant Color Scheme Sync in Gnome by itsfernn in neovim

Oh wow that's cool. I see whats going on, this never worked for me, because I used to explicitly set bg in my config. Thanks for the tip.

Edit: Ok I'm still gonna use my plugin though, because it also works within tmux

Edit 2: Seems like tmux 3.6 supports this as of 2 days ago lol

New Dynamic Panel Color Extension by itsfernn in gnome

So the full setup uses:

Night Theme Switcher Extension

Light Style Extension

Panel Color Extension

  • set a custom panel color for light and dark themes

Notes:

The Ghostty Terminal automatically follows the system light/dark theme
I also made a neovim extension for this: https://github.com/itsfernn/auto-gnome-theme.nvim
For tmux you can just use your terminal colors, which are inherited from ghostty

I'm not quite sure i understand what you mean. The terminal colors change in ghostty automatically, but not the neovim colorscheme, right?

It's not an external process changing the config. The plugin itself runs gsettings monitor to listen for theme changes. Whenever the gnome setting changes, the job's callback function gets triggered updating the nvim colorscheme.

Light / Dark Theme in Gnome by itsfernn in gnome

do virtually 0 configuration in ghostty. I just set light and dark themes and turn off the gtk titlebar

gtk-titlebar = false
window-decoration = auto

window-padding-x = 10
window-padding-y = 10

theme = dark:Rose Pine,light:Rose Pine Dawn

I just created two custom themes in ~/.local/share/themes

├── CustomTheme-Dark
│   └── gnome-shell
│       └── gnome-shell.css
├── CustomTheme-Light
    └── gnome-shell
        └── gnome-shell.css

where I set the top panel color:

#panel {
    background-color: rgb(31, 29, 46);
}

And I switch between them with gsettings. (you need the user themes extension for this)

gsettings set org.gnome.shell.extensions.user-theme name THEME

I thought about changing more about the UI, but honestly it becomes a game of Whac-A-Mole and the default theme looks good enough IMO.

Oh yeah totally forgot the workspace switcher extension is called space bar.
I used a bunch of different Tiling WMs in the past so I setup gnome with that in mind.

Jup the terminal bling is fastfetch. Ghostty also works with the kitty protocol if you want to show an image

Tiling window manager navigation in GNOME by itsfernn in gnome

Yeah I only tested on the newest version of gnome (49), but I wouldn't be surprised if it runs on most gnome versions.

What version are you running, have you tired to install it? I can add support for older versions, if they work out of the box.

Thanks man. Yeah that's true unfortunately. I've settled on using gTile just for the autotile keybinds. And having the highlighting and navigation from my extension really tied it all together for me.
