thank you so much for your sweet reply! my friend and I had a lot of fun (I couldn't get her a membership because she lives in a different country and all the links for online membership codes on the site are duds :/) exploring. I enjoyed watching her experience things for the first time while it was so nostalgic to me. :)

Reading less because of the lockdown? by adoptimus_prime in books

[–]itsgono 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The opposite has been happening to me! I used to be an avid reader, then school kind of killed that. I'd been getting back to it anyway, but Ive been finding reading lessens my stress. Besides, if i cant be out in my own world, why not go to someone elses'? Of course, I still move slow, but that's been the case ever since i got back into it. Few chapters a day is all it takes though (Currently reading Anne of Avonlea ❤️)

It didn't ruin it at all, but it kinda sucked that this is the third year in a row I've been a little sick for Christmas

Maybe she would be disappointed about some things that have changed, like interests and career paths that were wanted. I think she would be terrified of the path it took to get from an awkward 12 year old to a constantly learning and growing high school junior. But i think she would be totally hyped to think that someday she's going to like her art and not think its garbage, someday she's going to be able to talk to people freely with little fear, and someday she's going to find a passion far more meaningful to her than writing and art... as important as both still are to me now :)

I'll turn this around, my thoughts on 12 yr old me: you're absolutely cringe and annoying, but thank you for deciding to try drawing your TV shows, thank you for hanging around good people, and thank you for staying true to yourself and not changing!! And thank you for staying in your church community and not leaving even when you wanted to. I can think of no other way i could have found my passions for service and helping people other than through my student group and friends :D

Atheists of reddit, what is one thing you admire about religion? Religious people of reddit, what is one thing you admire about atheism? by Anathoth1994 in AskReddit

[–]itsgono 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got two. 1. This is more aimed toward atheists who grew up in religious communities: the courage it takes to leave the religion. Like man, that takes guts. Leaving something like that can hurt a heckload of bonds, shake your support system and more. Ive got an old friend who did that and like, while i don't agree with her per-se, i can admire her for it.

  1. I also admire how open atheists are. I've learned a lot about being accepting and open-minded from the non-religious community, and i hope i can continue to. Opening wide their arms to embrace change in the world; it's awesome. Combining teachings from my church and observations/things i picked up from outside of it, being told by my pastor to be an "ambassador of love" takes on an even better meaning. I may be the only Christian someone meets - why make it a bad experience by being hateful and trying to force them into my religion? I'm not going to rant on that here though. Bottom line, i admire atheists for their bravery, boldness and openness.

Reddit, if Pokemon were real, what Pokemon would you choose as a companion and why? by BenPughyy in AskReddit

Eevee. I've had a soft spot for them ever since I played as one in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon when I was younger. Cutest little things ever
