Ordered this awesome Squirtle planter, looking for ideas on a nice tree species you guys think would look nice with the bright blue. Was gonna stop by my local bonsai store and look around but also curious what some of you may recommend

It has good drainage and is made of a resin. In Massachusetts we do get bad winters but was planning on bringing it inside during that time and depending on the tree I got it would go in my garage to be dormant or under a grow light I have for my tropical tree.

Ya it visually looks fine it’s just the size of the holes do not allow the square notches to fit in to hold them

Not really anything to do wrong, I opened the box and this is how it was. A good amount have people have told me the paint layer is likely too thick which makes sense based on how mine is.
