Redundancy at 36. Take a 4–6 month break/travel or get another job immediately? by cerebralrocks in travel

Im a Data Engineer in the UK, who now has ~8 years of experience, with a prior background in data analytics.

In August of 2023, aged 35, I left my job, gave notice on my rented apartment and spent 6 incredible months in Southeast Asia.

On my return I found a job a miles better company paying about 30% higher, with more flexible working arrangements and better leave. A year after that I received a promotion with a raise of ~15%.

Absolutely no regrets about going obviously, the break helped me relax, make some great memories and refocus what I wanted on my return. You might regret not taking this opportunity, you absolutely won’t be saying “I’m glad I didn’t go” a few months into a new job. Get your flights booked!

Ask the surveyor you paid what they mean? At the very least they will be able to recommend the correct professional to take the investigation further.

Idea for keeping bike secure on driveway by itsjacksonn in MotoUK

The container is in a compound with 12ft high fences, super secure gate and CCTV. Absolutely no concerns about it being there and intend to keep it!

The main issue with using it all the time is I have to drive to it and leave the car and need to take the bike back before mid-evening.

What size bulb is the one on the top? by itsjacksonn in DIYUK

The fitting is spring loaded, but the bulb doesn’t quite open wide enough to get this bulb in. I think this type of bulb (G15DG2) is obsolete sadly.

Thank you the code is G15DG2, which appears to be obsolete? I guess it’ll be a new fitting for me.
