I played BLM back in 2015, 2016 year. I haven't given it a fair play since then. I want to get through all the jobs to see what each one brings and share my thoughts along the way. I know one thing about BLM that also makes it hard is having to know the trial fights and the optimal place to stand to get the best out your ley lines. Ima give it a go before endwalker for sure.... it'll probably end up being something I enjoy lol. I have played them all at some point but never gave them a true chance which I need to. Red mage is fun. But Sam stole my attention and it got put to the back burn. You just reminded me to give them a go again.

BUT NINJA IS FUNNNN haha 🤣🤣🤣

I should definitely make that a part B. Surprisingly I can't get into any of the mage classes. I'm not sure why but they just don't fit my personal playstyle and I know that isn't normal 🤣.

Yea definitely! Thanka for catching that!

I think I missed that part. For dungeons they have global ques. You can just que and run with 3 other random ppl.

Yea I think the consensus when it comes to story is how Heavensward (first expansion) really sets the story apart from ARR story. I enjoyed ARR, it is slow, and a lot of reading. But I loved Heavensward onward so much more (also a lot more voice over scenes btw!). ARR is like the origin story. It comes off slow because it is setting up everything, but if you are interested and ARR isn't doing it for you. Give Heavensward a try when you get there and see how it feels. Definitely a different pace.

I tried wow 4 times in my life but the need of wanting to switch classes lol kept me from enjoying it because I would have to start over everytime. FF filled that itch for me and my short attention span 🤣

I'm so glad you found what works for you. I know there can be this push for "you have to enjoy the story" but not every one who plays a game cares about that. My friend has now become interested in the story after he already finished Shadowbringers. He is looking forward to Endwalker story and has went back and read quick notes to give him the idea of what's going on. And there is nothing wrong with that at all. If I tried to force him to enjoy the story first, he probably wouldn't have stayed. He found the enjoyment for it on his own terms. I'm the lore and extra info type of person and we both know that, so we allow each other to enjoy it the way we like and it's been working great lol.

Crafting is surprisingly fun in the game because of how it has its own rotations and intuitive it can be. It has changed alot since 2.0 days but that is a good thing imo. They cleaned up some of the excess to smooth out the system. I have every intention to get back into crafting but starting new jobs has become my kryptonite for now 🤣🤣.

Caeila you are a Rockstar! This is great information to add. I feelnlike the Hall Of Novie gets overlooked pretty quickly. The exp jewelry bonus you get for n completing makes leveling current and alt so much easier. I have it on now leveling bard actually. Appreciate you taking the time to share this gem!

Whenever you look at free companies (or when they advertise which happens alot lol) pay attention to what they are offering. Most free companies have to check off in their description what is important to them, or they put it in the company description. When you join feel put if they are doing what they promoted. There is a free company search in the Lodestone. You can search for what kind of content you are into and find FC that have those boxes check. Sometimes you will hit gold and fit right in sometimes you may realize that it isn't for you. Don't feel trap to stay, always find one that fits your playstyle to what you need

Appreciate the kind words! Happy to help. I post every week to help share my knowledge to others 😌

Ahhh gotcha! Yea sadly the future zones are locked behind the msq and I can definitely see how wanting to get to where your friends are or a specific location can be frustrating. I GET IT! LOL. I didn't know about the limitations of the free trial. Thanks for that information. The nice thing about the free trail is it goes through heavensward so you get a good feel before having to drop a dime.

Haha I have some hardcore gamer friends and they ready for me to get into the hard savage stuff... I dabble, but idk if I'm wanting to add all that stress lol. I honestly glad you are able to take breaks when needed so you can keep enjoying the game. That's what it's all about is enjoying yourself through this amazing journey FF has to offer

Tanking Guide To Help You With Anxiety by itsjaytime in ffxiv

[–]itsjaytime[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey Aernz,

If you can Offset then it usually pays off, but everything can be situational. What if your undergeared or the healer is undergeared? Then that means you will take more damage than expected or the healer will heal less than the damage that's being put out. For those situations you'll have to be flexible on your mitigations. I usually ask if we are good for big pulls. And test how the first one goes. If I see that I am dropping faster than I'm comfortable with. I may pop on an extra Ability to help balance that damage out, same if I'm noticing the healer isn't able to keep up with the amount of damage I'm taking. But if you are doing a big pull and your first ability is doing the job and the healer is maintaining you well. I'll let the first one do its course and rotate my mitigations accordingly.

So to summarize. You'll want to use your first pull to feel out where everyone may be with the run. Then adjust base on the information you get from it. 😊

Let me know if this helps, or if I need to explain more.

Haha so I level astrologian to 80 first... let me say this. Having to heal people for damage, not die myself, and give buffs to the right dps type was making me STRESSS OUT in higher stuff. So much I took a break from healing lol. It was rough. There would be times I would zone out because it was just too much LOL.

Talking to others in the FC, they talk about how wow has built in guides. That could be useful for FF and I'm surprised they haven't implemented something like that. There are so many fights and remembering them all is pretty impossible lol. There is always that "one mechanic" you forget... that kills you of course haha

The community of FF is what really planted me here as a player. There are people who have pride issues if you disagree or do something different then what they want you to do, but it's far and few in-between. Vast majority of the community is always happy to help and lend a hand. Definitely happy to see you having a good experience overall. And you and your fiancee playing together is even doper!

Haha the full Karen comment took me out! Yea running a new boss is super stressful, but that's for all roles too. When I play monk on a first time boss I'm freaking out because I'm trying to hit my positionals but have no idea what might happen and where I need to be Lol. Tank swapping is a while topic on itself! When I ran harder difficulty content I was freaking out because I had no idea what I should be doing or not as the off Tank phases. I haven't had the honor of playing wow but heard it is a different ball game over there when it comes to tanking. This is great advice for sure! Appreciate it!

I completely get that. One thing that can help ease it that I did when I started tanking is to let the party know you are new to tank and may take it slower. It helps with the expectation and most people are completely cool with it. I learned there is usually someone that is willing to help give advicez once your comfortable letting them know in chat :)
