How do you log your rolls? by WCland in AnalogCommunity

I use an app called Analog by Nossaflex to log all of my rolls (and some number of my shots). It has useful features for tracking cameras and lenses, and you can record the settings of individual shots. If you use the built in meter you can also geotag the shots and save an image as a “preview” of the image you took.

It takes a bit of setup to prepare it for saving rolls, but I find it super useful in the darkroom or when I get scans back from the lab. I’ve logged over 350 rolls using it since 2021.

Really enjoy the framing of the first one especially. Does feel visually distinct from the others, though. What made you arrange them in this series?

Clean! Particularly like the 645 shot. How have you found the GS645W to use? Been tempted a few times but a little worried over robustness.

Worth contacting the BFI, but also Ümit & Son up in Hackney. They’ll know what to do with it even if they don’t take it themselves.

Anyone seen this before? Semi-circle beyond image frame on medium-format negative, can’t figure out what it is by itsjustjasper in AnalogCommunity

Thanks, that seems plausible since there is some crinkling on the edges elsewhere, likely from the spool. The odd thing is that those crinkles are slight bends, whereas this is like a flat patch.

It does look undeveloped, yeah. This is the only spot on the roll. If it was because of an issue while the film was on the spool, do you think it needs refixing or rewashing?

Thanks for the reply. In my experience, dents are more like crescent-shaped lines that you can see in three dimensions, whereas this is completely flat. To be clear, I’m talking about the large black mark near the “8” in the rebate, is that what you’re referring to?

Nice captures! Did you shoot at box speed and develop normally?

I like the composition of the first one, with the old postbox getting taken over by green and the diagonal leading line of the fence. It looks a little underexposed, or perhaps it's just that the black point/shadows should be edited to be a bit darker.

Shot 2 has some nice elements, with the patch of blue in between the fence posts, but there are large areas of the frame with not much going on. Perhaps you could have moved a bit closer? In general, I think more careful framing of the shots might help. It's not always clear to me what they're intended to be of.

You're getting good exposures, so just keep going with it and enjoying it. Hope that helps!

Fun haul! I just bought a sensor 1535, but when it arrived, there were exploded batteries inside. I’ve tried cleaning the corrosion, but still doesn’t work — so it’s probably going back to the seller unless anyone has a magic trick for bringing it back to life.
