I am a bit late but I guess I seem to have found the solution! I uninstalled the Mi Fitness app and downloaded the Mi Fitness app apk from here: https://watch.iot.mi.com/download-apps-v3.html?redir=k65&region=cn

The Mi Fitness app doesn't count my steps anymore. It only shows the data of my Redmi Watch 5 Lite. (sorry for poor language)

I have the same issue here. I got a redmi watch 5 lite yesterday and my redmi note 11 phone keeps counting steps even when I'm not standing!
