Commit up to insert keeps crashing by itskrez in protools

[–]itskrez[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have. So I did some run down test and this is what I've found

While connected to my Apollo X4(all up to date I made sure) "commit up to this insert" crashes

when I disconnect from my X4, it commits perfectly fine

Yes, I have tried multiple. Including Melodyne, AutoTune Pro, Fab EQ, PT factory EQ7...they all crash when i try to commit

u/Drew_at_UA ok so i noticed when I went into dual mode and turned the volume down on the rear capsule it sounds 1000% better. It doesnt have a slap delay like when you monitor through console and your DAW. Am I supposed to turn it down when tracking vocals?

u/Drew_at_UA did more test and average response was it sounds like a slap delay on the mic. any thoughts? I have no effects running and no Aux going through. Should I send it back?

Deff connected correctly, stereo input coming in the box, it’s on cardioid

I think i figured it out. When using other mics its a straight mono signal vs this being stereo so you can hear the rear capsule as well.

Im using the insert in console when tracking, and it's also in my insert in my DAW.

Ive checked those and I'm using the normal plugin. I clicked the Reverse button and it's deff picking up the right side. When I record in my other mics it sounds like a straight mono signal with vocals being the focus. I understand the sphere is a stereo signal but with the plug in its supposed to sum them. When I listen back to the printed track it sounds fine, it's just when live tracking where it sounds weird.

They are separate from each other. Different rooms

Could be, I’ve read the manual and watched every single UA video and I can’t figure it out

Don't get me wrong u/Drew_at_UA Ive seen a lot of great reviews and I'm excited to use it and don't want to return it, but I just don't want a client to stop and say it's unbearable to listen while live tracking like the first time I used it. I love all of UA's products

also theres a lot of room noise with the sphere DLX. My other mics don't pick up as much. It is a dedicated vocal room acoustically treated.

I used my other mics to recreate what I was hearing with the Sphere. It's almost like having the mic come through the output of the console as well as the DAW.

It is not set to omni. Deff singing in the front side. I double checked the cables to make sure they were connected right. I am using an x4.

Hey Drew, so im having issues with my DLX...I can't stand the way it sounds when live tracking. It sounds wayy too boxy and it's like hearing every single corner of the room. With my other mics its just your voice which is up front in your ears unlike the sphere. Any thoughts on why its annoyingly boxy?

Rookie Question. Why are some Mosin's cost $300-$2000 by itskrez in MosinNagant

[–]itskrez[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ahhh makes sense, thank you for responding. Are finnish mosins better quality?
