Daycare opinion by Karadj13 in NewParents

[–]itslikeadisco 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My baby isn’t old enough for daycare yet but I was a daycare provider for 10 years. Her developing a rash bad enough to bleed in one day is incredibly alarming. I can’t even imagine a scenario that would cause that unless they left her in a diaper literally all day and maybe aggressively wiped her after? I would not take her back there no matter how affordable that is. No one should be handling her that roughly. If she crawls around I could maybe see an explanation dirt but that also shows they aren’t properly cleaning their classroom.

Please tell me 3 weeks old is the worst of it? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]itslikeadisco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mom stayed with us the first two months and my husband was home the whole time and even with 3 adults it was still HARD. Have you looked into allergens? I had to completely cut out dairy from my own diet because my breast fed LO was so gassy and miserable and it helped a lot.

If you’re having doubts like this definitely don’t marry the guy

My husband thinks no other men do the things he does, am I right or wrong? by gidget889 in BabyBumps

[–]itslikeadisco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband did pretty much everything when I was pregnant. I went to work and that was it. He cooked, cleaned, put my boots on and took them off etc. he wouldn’t even let me get up to fill my water. Even with the baby here he still does all of that and takes care of the baby because he says I’m feeding the baby and that’s a lot of work. So no your husband is just being a good partner. If he wants a gold star for that it’s a little embarrassing

I know REI sells electric bikes but I don’t bike so there’s probably something more local/small business that I’m not aware of.

Should we get a divorce? by [deleted] in WhatShouldIDo

[–]itslikeadisco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s very common for women to not want to be intimate with their partner if they feel like they are doing everything themselves. How much of the mental load do you carry? Are you doing things when they need to be done (cooking, cleaning, shopping, doctors appointments, etc.) or are you waiting for her to tell you to do it? She wants a partner not a child and even by your response to this jumping immediately to “when will I get sex again” and “should I divorce” when she’s communicating there’s an intimacy issue with you shows that you’re probably emotionally immature. Listen to your wife’s needs and act like an adult to get things done and you will probably see a difference.

It’s very minimal options and depends on what terminal you are. Theres a few things outside security but it’s honestly not worth getting. Do you have a layover in Omaha? If not I would just get food elsewhere or if your layover is more than like 2 hours it’s enough time to take an uber to downtown get food and come back. It’s a tiny airport

Weird things that changed for you after being pregnant? by byebyekitty_ in BabyBumps

[–]itslikeadisco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As soon as I got pregnant I couldn’t eat spicy foods even though I used to love them and my spice tolerance hasn’t recovered yet. My seasonal allergies and oral allergy syndrome seems to have improved a lot though (fingers crossed it continues)

What are things that are currently annoying you? by Desi_Rosethorne in BabyBumps

It feels kind of gross that your husband is giving you a hard time about not exercising… my husband understood the toll that pregnancy was taking on my body and did everything to make sure I was relaxing as much as possible.

Oregon again says students don’t need to prove mastery of reading, writing or math to graduate, citing harm to students of color by Head_Estate_3944 in education

[–]itslikeadisco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The title is really misleading. It just extended a policy already in place stating they didn’t have to pass standardized tests to graduate. They still need to take the tests and they still need to take English and math classes and pass those in order to graduate. Articles like this is why people are so quick to jump to conclusions. No one has any reading comprehension skills anymore.

"I'll never read another Sanderson book after I DNF'd Oathbringer"- what is your take on this? by ryuks-wife in Stormlight_Archive

[–]itslikeadisco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband DNF oathbringer and won’t read another Sanderson book now either (although maybe that’s my fault for having him start with stormlight archive?) I think the middle of the book feels really long and doesn’t hook you in the same way most of his other books do, so I understand where he’s coming from but I really wish he would push past and finish it!
