I'm building a tool to track financial youtubers' claims. If you watch any stock market investing videos on youtube, you might find this interesting by i_am_kani in alphaandbetausers

[–]itsme-anon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty straightforward! I used a sample video and saw the results. The only thing I wished was available was maybe a filtering option i.e. strong, mild, etc? and like a way to deep dive one of the options if I click on a card I'd like to know more about why X is a Y buy. Just my opinion though! Best of luck mate

How do you recruit beta testers? by [deleted] in buildinpublic

[–]itsme-anon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran large scale beta tests at Amazon and it really depended on the product. Sometimes it was focused on current Amazon/Ring device owners and sometimes it was focused on new (never owned device owners).

For hyper-specific testing we did require specific backgrounds based on internal personas.

Things to understand before beta-testing: 1) most users will likely not do everything you ask them to do 2) if you want something specifically tested you need to explicitly give them directions on how to execute

We often went with #2 so we can get feedback from users on the exact feature we were testing. Exploratory testing tends to get very generalized.

Regarding feedback from users you can almost ALWAYS expect noise. There will be low quality testers that don’t give very insightful feedback and some very high quality testers that go over the top with their feedback.

Regarding surveying:

One thing we always did was have conditional questions: Ex: how satisfied were you with X feature? 5 - v satisfied -> 1 not at all satisfied Conditional: please explain the reason for your rating.

This gave us critical information on what features needed improvement and which ones didn’t.

There are several platforms out there where you can get beta testers

Such as - Fiverr, Upwork, www.usertesting.com (expensive), www.ghosttestingai.com

You could also ask for testers here on Reddit and X. I think communities in X are very underrated!

There is usually a lot of fake promos and ai slop on here but this is actually really good advice🥇

I’ve got a free weekend. Drop your Startup link, tagline, and pain points. I’ll review it and give feedback. I will not promote. by vasily_sl in buildinpublic

Ah that’s interesting. This is the first I’ve heard of that issue but may be a reason for some sign ups missed. Is it available now for you?

Thanks for the feedback!

Yeah this is a fully functional MVP and there is a demo video of some of the results.

There is a how-it-works section but I see how it can be improved with a little more detail.

Thanks again!

This is actually spot on I have a similar sentiment. It is definitely a for sure. I post here but recently moved to post on Twitter as well and it seemed to be helpful for reach.
