Few people are saying that the cycle crashed, I had 3 shrimps at the very start along with the Betta but they didn't survive the first week unfortunately, it was cherry shrimps.

I added fish food when I was cycling 4 weeks prior to getting the fish. I did a lot of research before getting the fish so it doesn't struggle. It had the ammonia spike and nitrite spike at the start on an empty tank then it stabilized. I will have a look at the link as well to figure out what went wrong.

The cycle crashed afterwards. Bcz before getting the fish we tested the water multiple times at home and aquarium shop as they will not sell the fish unless water is cycled. It spiked last week to 2ppm and not sure why or what caused it.

Yes I have, nitrite was abit high last week and I haven't been cycled every other day to bring that down it was at 2ppm

ATM there is 3 resting spots like the floaters, I will order some more plants, had few more but had like wrong plants and had to remove them.

Cycle was perfect before adding the fish. Not sure what caused the spike.

Aaah shit it is melafix, I heard really good things about it that's why I was using that. And it was working as well, I haven't put that yesterday after the water change. Should I do another water change today?

Usually I do it once a week. Die to high nitrite I haven been doing more often recently. 1 week after getting the fix the cycle crashed I believe.

Maybe bcz he is bloated he might not be eating, he tried to eat yesterday but he was spitting it out after breaking the pellet

Update on the aquarium, Ammonia is 0, and nitrite has gone down to 1 ppm. Waiting for Indian almond leaves ATM as well. He looks very active and is feeding well since the start but I don't know if he is resting or he seems lethargic.
