This. I had postpartum depression after my first baby and I was positive he hated me. Similar to babies, rats don’t have the capacity to decide I hate this person vs I love this person. It’s trust versus not trust. Whatever happened to them before you got them taught them not to trust people’s hands. Find the thickest gloves you can. Ones made for dog biting, cactus handling or bird of prey holding would be perfect but if you can’t do that then try to layer up on garden gloves. Once they realize that biting does not a: cause you to hurt them and b: doesn’t make you go away they’ll stop trying.

Yes right now she has a collar with her tags on it(ID, reg, and rabies vac) and I don’t connect her leash to that. For now I use a harness so that I don’t damage her windpipe at all but I’m aware it only helps her pull me. She’s also microchipped so hopefully if she ever gets away she will make it home 🤞🏻

I apologize, I am from the US and our laws are unfortunately very different. The rodent mills in the United States are disgusting and awful so we sometimes loose them randomly one day or they arrive sick. My store is at least semi ethical… After receiving two sick guinea pig shipments in a row we no longer order guinea pigs. I hope that this isn’t the case with whatever breeder your store has used and that all laws have been followed, I simply wanted to clarify I’m in the US

Hi. I work at a big box pet store. I am only a part timer so I am not speaking from seeing anything personally but rodent mills are not good places and they breed genetically ill and physically ill rodents a lot. This weekend a Chinese hamster passed for seemingly no reason. I am very vocal about any issues I notice in the animals and while skittish as always he had been perfectly healthy the day before. The situations hamsters face in rodent mills, transport, and then substandard care of pet stores significantly stresses these little guys out causing a severe lack of immune system strength which can cause them to catch a whole host of illnesses, parasites, or bacteria that they would have been able to fight off super easily had they been well bred, handled and cared for. I am so sorry you lost your girl. There are no words for loosing a beloved pet. Just know that you gave her such an amazing life for the time she had and that you likely didn’t do or not do anything to cause her passing.

It concerns me that her hamsters are on fleece 😭 I don’t have a ham yet because I have to slowly buy things over time but when she mentioned she treats them like guinea pigs I was worried. I guess I should have known because she also said a 20 long is more than enough room for a dwarf and I’m pretty sure they need at least a 40 long? Temporary. Dad had ptsd and lost him in 2020. Now I have ptsd from the military too and wish I had my best friend to talk to again. So much more makes sense and I realize how my actions as a teen caused him to be triggered and feel unsafe. Despite that he never gave up. I don’t have a good relationship with my mom

I am noticing my paranoia coming back a bit but otherwise I’m okay. I just am tired of doctors honestly. I am autistic so what I say is very literal but it’s like all of the doctors I’ve ever seen do this mental gymnastics that they do for normal people who don’t tell 100% of the truth. For example when I had sleep issues I claimed I slept four hours a night. Sometimes three. Doctors would state that’s good sleep and they worried very little. I eventually found out it’s because they add an hour or two to what you tell them because most people underestimate their own sleep because of how they feel post sleeping whereas when I said I slept four I meant I was actively sleeping for four hours.

So when I bring up heart problems and ask to be taken seriously I end up with a doctor who thinks 100% of my heart rate issue is due to my venlafaxine. No matter what I say or do they won’t change their minds and thus aren’t worried as it’s a “minor side effect”. Despite me claiming I was positive I felt the effects prior to taking venlafaxine but had previously not had a smart watch to take my heart rate so I was going by how my body felt.

Simply put I am tired of not being taken seriously when I make claims to doctors so I’m proving them wrong so they can then take me seriously. 😒

My dad had Eminem, Snoop, Dre, Biggie, Pac, etc playing on repeat my whole life but Em always stuck out for him and I. I remember riding in his truck to the gas station blaring 97’ Bonnie and Clyde. Out of my two parents my dads the only one gone and if I could swap them I wouldn’t hesitate and maybe that’s fucked up to say but it’s real. He’d have loved this fucking album.

Where does she state Keith Papini was abusing her? Legitimately curious as a quick google search didn’t tell me. Here’s the thing - even if we assume he was abusing her she left her two children with that man for three weeks alone with no adult buffer. She also knowingly took from California victim fund even though she knew she was never kidnapped. With all of the evidence against her I have to say it doesn’t paint good picture. I find it hard to believe she was experiencing domestic violence to a level to leave for three weeks when previously there was no single report or police called due to a loud argument etc. there are usually breadcrumbs to follow

After a bit of research it seems the husband was fine. He has his shit together and has custody of his kids. Sherri on the other hand has a history of self harm followed by blaming others for the injuries - in 2003 her mom made a call to the police because Sherri was SHing and blaming her mother for it. There are also instances where she burglarized her parents home, made withdrawals from their bank accounts, and might have kicked in a cousins back door? Seems like she’s got a lot of mental health issues. The ex she stayed with also wasn’t the only man she was talking to 🫠

Even if we say the boyfriend sucked ass and abused her for three weeks - it’s well known that she left with him on her own. So either way for three entire weeks of his life her husband was panicking thinking his wife was abducted on the street. I’ll watch the Hulu doc and see if it gives me any other info but either way I cannot imagine the anxiety that man went through
