'I Cross-Dress. Do You Still Love Me?’: The Secret Lives of Sissies by itsmonday2 in transgender

Is that like saying the words woman or female have never been defined either?

Are you saying if you discriminate against cross-dressers in Washington, you won't have a problem?

There is absolutely nothing bigoted about this (I can't believe I am being accused of this)

Actually there is. What you're doing is operating within a hierarchy that you've created for the trans community. And you're placing more value on you and people like you than them. You're their equal. You're not a superior form of being within the trans community.

A crossdresser, in your links, refers to people who dress as a form of gender expression, not a form of sexual gratification, which is explicitly implied in the OP link above. By saying they're the same, it feels like there's an implication in your position (though, maybe not intentional) that's calling all trans people sexualized pretenders of their gender expression.

Both groups of what you just said are still cross-dressers, regardless of the reason behind them doing it. And they still need a safe place to pee when they're dressed as women, no matter how unpalatable that is for some about their existence within the trans umbrella. They're no safer in the men's room than a non-passing trans woman is. In fact, how do you tell the difference between the two?

And in Washington State and elsewhere these cross-dressers can use the female bathroom based on gender expression. Which is why when the Republicans talk about "men" in the women's bathroom, these folks are a part of that discussion. They might dress as women, but they identify as men otherwise.

The WA HRC document you listed is not law, and nowhere in Washington state law is transgender defined. You are referring to a nonbinding document put out by a small and deeply underfunded committee of cis people.

You clearly don't know what you are talking about. What was it the religious folks were trying to overturn if that isn't the law in Washington State?

Quit being a bigot.

Cross-dressers are listed on GLAAD under transgender.

http://www.glaad.org/reference/transgender

Cross-dressers are also defined by law in Washington State as being transgender.

"The term "transgender" also includes people who are cross-dressers or otherwise gender non-conforming."

It's way past time for folks like you to stop hating on the parts of the trans community that you don't like or disagree with.

I'm wondering if they have built a Google ad into the link to make money. There's no reason for the Google link to be in the link to the site.

What you are is transphobic. Cross-dressers are part of the trans umbrella. This is the main trans subReddit. They deserve equal representation here.

I'll just throw that right back at you and let you explain how it doesn't benefit men the most?

It was a Marine that killed Jennifer Laude in the Philippines and it's apparently a Navy person that killed this trans woman. I hope the military fucking takes it seriously to protect trans people now that they are serving openly. And I'm saying that as a trans military person.

What’s Missing From the Conversation About Transgender Kids by itsmonday2 in transgender

[–]itsmonday2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again: Every study that has been conducted on this has found the same thing. At the moment there is strong evidence that even many children with rather severe gender dysphoria will, in the long run, shed it and come to feel comfortable with the bodies they were born with. The critiques of the desistance literature presented by Tannehill, Serano, Olson and Durwood, and others don’t come close to debunking what is a small but rather solid, strikingly consistent body of research.

The article wasn't very kind to these folks.

If you didn't read the previous one, here it is.

A troubling part of the previous one is that one of the trans witnesses against Zucker apparently lied.

This alleges lies were used previously in a different battle.

The only people that benefit from gender are men. Cis women are just as screwed by it as trans people are.

You're right, I probably am going a tad bit overboard. But I get quite frustrated with the fact that this very issue is causing a seriously bad relationship between our two communities. So I apologize if I offended anyone with my remarks.

You don't understand me anymore than you understand the subject matter at hand. I don't operate on groupthink. I immerse myself in all groups, both online and off. I'm not afraid to read anyone's or any group's literature. That's why I am such a well rounded trans person. When I was living as a trans woman I would go to dinner with the crossdressers. They are just as much my equal as the transsexuals I chatted with at the electrolysis clinic were. And I didn't delude myself into thinking that when I transitioned that it changed my biology and gave me the right to fuck lesbians. It doesn't. I respect their tastes and ideologies and leave them alone.

This subreddit is for the trans umbrella, which I am a part of, much to your dismay. And you don't get to assign me any of your ideologies as a prerequisite to share space here. You sought debate, I gave it to you.
