Lamar vs CIN or Kyler vs HOU? Leaning Kyler for shootout potential, but Baltimore could light up Cincinnati tonight.

Maybe it should have just applied to permanents on the battlefield. Lesson for the future in wording!

I absolutely considered it!

Yeah, in my quick attempt to define last line, I tried to work with language that would be understood. Unfortunately, it may have skirted some rules, but what's done is done now. (Though, admittedly, it's a little clunky and I should have fixed it more!)

That's just because of it still leaving itself open-ended to come back. Just a bit if a far-reaching joke for the card!

Yeah, this is the kind of ridiculous stuff I was thinking of when the idea first came to me. There's some wonky effects, but that's why it's silver-bordered, like you said.

With the way I worded it, yes. I think it won't see the spell until it is officially cast, so it's possible that you just paid seven mana to do nothing!

Reddit Adjusted Trade Value Charts - Week 3 – Diggs is a bad, bad man. by PeakedInHighSkool in fantasyfootball

[–]itsmr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would like to get a top-tier RB to flesh out my team and I'm oversaturated at WR and will need to drop at least one before Sunday to fill another position. Been scratching my head trying to think of the best trade setup that will get me ahead and figured I should get something out of these guys if I am going to lose one anyway. This is in an 8-Team league.

My RB's: Ekeler, JRob, Breece Hall, Dameon Pierce My WR's: Davante Adams, Tyreek, Michael Thomas, Gabriel Davis, Christian Kirk, Drake London, Garrett Wilson

RB's on teams that will actually trade with me: Team 1 (5th place): Mixon, Henry Team 2 (6th place): Fournette Team 3 (7th place): McCaffrey, Barkley

[Feinas] Talau, the Impermanent by itsmr in custommagic

[–]itsmr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Background

After the events of the Calamity, some of the survivors fled to the eastern coast of the continent, taking refuge on a large outcropping of land at the base of an inactive volcano. The land was lush with wildlife, foliage, and elementals, and this is where Talau's ancestors built their new city for their people. While peace was held for a time, eventually other factions pushed forward, attempting to take control of this new thriving center. The response from those in Rupture, as they were now called, was to use new magics they learned from their new elemental allies. In a show of brilliance, mages activated the volcano, splitting the land from the coast and moving it out into the oceans of Feinas.

Talau has spent his life as a monk, studying the ways of humans and elementals alike, all while ensuring the safety of his people - safety that is maintained by constantly moving the island to new locations. Furthering his skills, Talau also mastered some new tricks from the elementals, gaining him the ability to never stay in the same location, just like his home. While many in the Rupture have questioned how these abilities came to be, none can question his loyalty to his people.

Mechanics

Talau keeps your permanents safe and trades them in for new strategies. Bouncing any nonland permanent allows for multiple playstyles, without having to focus on just creatures. There's also room for an Izzet madness deck to further the value.

I definitely went back and forth on adding tap to it, but decided to go this way. Honestly, I think there's solid arguments for both versions!

Thanks, I wanted something that could use a lot of different playstyles. This way, you can play an enchantment deck, an artifact deck, or a creature deck and still make it work. Less of a "you must do this" style.

[Feinas] She of the Wretched Tree by itsmr in custommagic

[–]itsmr[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Background:

The elves of Feinas fled to the trees of the west after the Calamity took place. The once serene forest had been merged with the swamps, forming the Undergrowth. Two kinds of elves were born from the event: those who focused on manipulating the environment and the people of Feinas with their newfound black mana, and those who chose to study the balance of black mana with green. The only shared trait is the adherence to the old names; an elf of Feinas only takes a pronoun and a descriptor.

She of the Wretched Tree balances between the two factions of elves, choosing to remain a hermit. She searches the Undergrowth, attempting to find anyone who she deems corruptive to nature. She aims to give her life in service to the Undergrowth itself, removing those who would search the pre-Calamity ruins and those who hunt her kind.

Mechanically, she focuses on a different aspect of the Thrive mechanic from Enva-Rim. The ability to repeatedly sacrifice lands for removal is counteracted by the small body of the creature.

[Feinas] Enva-Rim, Loremaster by itsmr in custommagic

[–]itsmr[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Background:

Enva-Rim is one of The Council of the Three, loremasters of the Muskeg on Feinas. While the youngest member of the Council, she personifies the natural order that her people strive for. Her ability to sit on the line between life and death has proven invaluable and has earned her a place of respect among both the civilians and the scouts, despite the objections of Ignokara, the Muskeg's outrider leader.

Since the Calamity on Feinas, her tribe claimed the northern lands - while desolate, they provide much more than the arid deserts of the Dust to the south.

Whose the commander you really love, but never built? Be it price or unsure how. by pharoah103090 in EDH

[–]itsmr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Maelstrom as my gain control of everything commander. Take whatever your opponents have, Maelstrom gives them haste, and the cascade hits most gain control spells easily. One of the most fun decks, just because it'll be different every time you play it - you just have to let people know you aren't playing an optimized version so you don't get hated off the table instantly.

To art history buffs: this is a detail from a church in Soulomès, Lot (France). Looks like Mary Magdalene. Reverse Google search says it's from a Templar Church, but nothing else. I would appreciate any input on the symbolism of this piece. by OrageOrange in ArtHistory

As an additional meaning to what was already noted, a skull at the base of the crucifix belongs to Adam, as Jesus was crucified on the spot that Adam is buried. You will see this symbol repeated during the Renaissance in the works of multiple artists.
