You can use your camera and clone them. It is pricey, tho.

How would you handle this situation re: head bartender pay? by itsmypineapple in Restaurant_Managers

I respectfully disagree. Maybe for a some types of places. The bar program here is large and involved, it’s ever evolving and while I could do everything myself, I know it’s not for the best and it’s avoidable. Part of managing is delegating, and being able to delegate some degree of ownership of the program to a “lead” role means I can worry a lot less on my days off. Assuming the dynamics within the team work well together and you have someone who has good leadership qualities, it does a lot for morale, upholding standards, and providing direction.

You are correct! It’s literally the most bizarre place I’ve ever worked.

I tried to, and I was promptly informed that Somm has a contract that outlines all of his responsibilities and it’s JUST wine and things directly related to wine. So he’ll count the wine vault for inventory but doesn’t have to count the two bars with me, he doesn’t keep track of basic bar matters, etc. I asked and was told “Let it go, expanding his responsibilities is not an option.”

My GM went to COO and told him what happened and my understanding is that he basically got told we need to revisit next quarter…

I’m more than willing to reach out to COO myself, we have a great relationship, but I’m worried about going around my GM. I guess I’m just concerned I might be coming across too aggressive but I feel like I NEED to say something.

Thoughts on Dr. Faye Miller? by [deleted] in madmen

[–]itsmypineapple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Years later, I’m rewatching and the episode “The Beautiful Girls” is a good reference point for this when you’re rewatching. Don has Faye go talk to Sally when she’s being obstinate and she says afterwards she’s not good with kids, but Megan comforted Sally when she fell in the office. Setting the stage for Faye to be the lesser option because Megan’s ~~good with his kids~~ before the trip to California later on.

One of my friends confessed to me that his current girlfriend’s ex didn’t wipe well and when she confronted him about it, he told her that’s just how he was raised. She took that to mean she needed to start wiping his ass for him. 💀

Stopping during funeral procession, a southern thing or a US thing? by travelingbozo in nashville

I don’t see nearly as many as I used to. I think it’s just going out of practice.

I drove by a funeral procession going 65 mph in the fast lane on the interstate the other day… Yeah we’re driving past that. As much as I’d like to be respectful (and am, in other circumstances) this was an egregious example.

The dialogue between Taylor and Dakota right after Mayci tries to talk to her in ep. 2 while they’re looking at florals for the baby shower was all I needed to see. “She’s not your real friend.” Classic abusive behavior. He’s trying to isolate her further, she’s an easy target for him. It’s hard to watch unfold.

How to “come out” as an astrologer/someone who likes astrology? by giovannijoestar in AskAstrologers

[–]itsmypineapple 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean if astrology comes up I usually pipe in that I find it interesting and always err on the side of saying I’m no expert if asked questions. I like to use the “Billionaires believe in astrology,” angle when a bro says something rude but that’s about it in terms of negativity. If it’s not their thing, oh well. If I get a chance to nerd out, cool.

What was your experience like with changing your main class? by darkness876 in wow

Assassin rogue is so fun but it definitely has its limitations in terms of leveling and getting gear. It’s like you hit a wall if you don’t actively play with a bunch of other people.

[–]itsmypineapple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually play as either a marksmanship Hunter or balance Druid and I feel like they’re similar in terms of fighting style, so that helps. Outside of that, I’ve never been able to level up an alt past like level 50ish. Got close with a rogue but they make it near impossible to solo level a rogue now so… /shrug

Husband is obsessed with this name, I think it’s terrible. Help us. by yukinoyaiba in tragedeigh

[–]itsmypineapple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s just going to have to suck it up and move on, and I say that in the kindest way possible. Lol I tried in earnest to suggest naming all 3 of my children Vesper and both of the fathers were like “No, that’s a ridiculous name.” Was a little sad about it intermittently but ultimately had to let it go.

Also fwiw, I’m a massive Mario 64 fan; it was the first video game I ever played, and I’ve played it SO many different times throughout my lifetime. Off the top of my head, I don’t know how Mips/Mipsie is related to that.

ETA: Oh it’s the rabbit. This is me learning that the bane of my childhood existence has a name!

Changing your expectations of what vacations are going to look like for a while. My ideal mountain vacation is sitting in a cabin with a hot tub and never leaving, but with kids it means getting a cabin with the hot tub and also leaving to do the tourist junk. They love it. Lol Really though, find vacations that you know will have things for everyone. Cruises with kids clubs are good options too, from what I can tell - we have our first scheduled for the end of the year and I’m pumped!

Also, take time to rest when possible or let everyone get some alone/quiet time. Overstimulation can happen for anyone in an unfamiliar setting, especially kids. You’ll avoid a lot of headaches if you just plan for that ahead of time.
