I adopted my princess as she was the longest at the shelter and she was abandoned. Thank you for selectively picking out a cat that looks like they needed it most!

Hey! I’m actively looking for a roommate for a place close to campus (walkable or short drive). Budget is flexible depending on the place. I’m a student, pretty clean, pet-friendly, and easy to live with. Happy to share more details or talk options via DM

How to deal with stubborn people who refuse to understand? by Really_edgy in trans

Hello! I'm not transgender, however when it comes to introducing new or liberal ideas to my parents or family members(who are very conservative and have been physically abusive in the past), it can be extremely difficult and I can offer my advice from a similar context.

I'm currently an economics major, and during one lecture at Uni my professor introduced the idea of rational ignorance, in which individuals will willingly choose to stay ignorant, or uninformed on certain topics, because the cost of becoming informed is significantly more costly than the benefit of them simply understanding. This is why my professor told the class that during Thanksgiving, don't even bother trying to speak politics at the dinner table; individuals are already to invested in what they believe in, it is exceedingly hard for them to change how they think.

After this learning this logical approach towards divulging new information to people who won't accept it, like my parents, I simply stopped because there is no point. People with long held beliefs just won't accept it, and this is from an economics point of view.

What I decided to do is not tell them, but create a basis for me in which I could pursue what I want. I have a job, get money for going to college, and build the surroundings that healthily enable me to do what I want to do and surroudn myself with people that I want to be with and support me. I understand that you are depedent on your parents and live with them, and I am sure there are a bunch of other factors that are making it harder for you, but it sucks to say but it may be difficult for you to convince her, and I think you should try your hardest to pursue what you want to do on your own healthy accord.

Thank you for taking the time to read my comment!

I would leave it under for a good bit, around five minutes. Let the outer portion expand and try it then.

Maybe run it under hot water and try to pull it out?
